Proclaim is becoming excessively slow and unresponsive

We run Proclaim on a number of computers - PC's and Macs. Over the past few months, it is becoming agonizingly slow and unresponsive. Is there something going on? I almost always have to wait 5+ seconds between keystrokes waiting for the program to get on the same line with me or make the changes I just keyed in.

I am hoping there is a simple fix. If not, this is heading toward a place where I cannot use it. Please advise.

Unfortunately, I will be at work and not on my main computer. It will be a very busy day for me as well. I might be able to make Tuesday work. I am in Alaska, and it would have to be early morning.

However, this issue is happening on all our computers, so I am doubting it is a computer issue. I have a Mac and a PC. My pastor has a Mac. Our projection computer is a PC, and my lyric coordinator is on a PC.

I suspect that fully uninstalling Proclaim, deleting our cache, and reinstalling Proclaim will resolve your issue. This will force Proclaim to rebuild our local cached data (which can take a little bit as we pull things down from our servers) but after this you will probably be fast again. The steps are pretty straight forward (below) - we can connect and do this on Tuesday if you would like or you can do it now.

I wanted to look at the Proclaim cache on your machines - if you have a chance backing that up before deleting everything would really help us out.

Just to reiterate, these steps will delete all of your locally cached Proclaim data, when you re-open Proclaim it will sync this data back down. It can take a little bit for the sync to occur but after this sync Proclaim should run much faster.

Backing up Proclaim cache

Stop Proclaim
Mac: Copy /Users/Ben/Library/Application Support/Proclaim to an new folder (ie /Users/Ben/Library/Application Support/Proclaim_backup)
Windows: Copy C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Local\Proclaim to a new folder (ie Proclaim_backup)

Delete Proclaim and Reinstall

Mac: Delete Proclaim from the Applications folder then delete /Users/Ben/Library/Application Support/Proclaim
Windows: Add and Remove Programs, uninstall Proclaim then delete C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Local\Proclaim
Download the latest version from proclaimonline.com/download and install

If this works let us know how big your Proclaim_backup folder is and we'll find a way to get it from you.
