TIP of the day: Collection to make use of your Vyrso resources
1. Think of this tip as a bit more useful to the Sunday School teacher than to a preacher. If you look at the number of books of lists published and the number of lists in general Bible handbooks, it is clear that there is a sizable market for "Bible lists". If one builds an appropriate collection of list resources, one can add a section to your passage guide and see the lists associated with a passage:
2. To create the collection, you will need to tag your resources to appear in this section. I use the tag "Guide collection: list". One has to find the resources to tag primarily by trial and error.
- focus on monographs, encyclopedias and bible concordances
- look for titles such as "all the", "every", "in the Bible", "names" and "lists"
- select the titles you think of as "lists" holding down the CNTRL in order to have a multple selection
- open the information panel portion of the library, if not already open
- if your tag is already present on some of the selected resources, you may click "apply to all" to put the tag on all selected resources; otherwise type it into the add tag box - remember after the first time it will appear in the drop down box.
This will pick up most if not all of the list resources in Logos format
3. However, the Vyrso resources take different but similar approach as the resources are monographs and the titles are "Bible promises", "verses for", names, "promises for". For me this leads to this set:
You may make different choices as to what you consider to be lists, but by including the Vyrso resources you are assured that your results reflect the scripture presented to the popular, devotional market - they will be familiar to some of your audience, comfortable even.
4. However, I also run into interesting lists spread through my resources. These I convert to Passage Lists using the prefix LIST to tell me that it is a permanent list that I wish to treat as if it were offered in one of my list resources. Examples:
There is a drawback in that there is no automatic annotation of where the list came from - I keep a note file of that. And one cannot include these Passage Lists in the Collection. However, they will appear automatically in the My Content Section and are quickly identified by the prefix "LIST".
