I have read the past posts, but now in 2016, whats the consensus now of those who use the above?

I have a 2011 Macbook and have no problems at all. In fact, my Mac is the only computer I have that will handle Logos efficiently. Every Windows laptop I've own was never powerful enough to sufficiently handle Logos (I have about 10,000 resources and use a lot of resources that have graphics in them, which is the perfect scenario for a Mac).

Just to clarify: Are you referring to the new 12" Macbook that came out last year (2015)? There was no Macbook in 2012.

I have the base version of the 2015 12" retina Macbook. It runs Logos just fine with my library (4,000 resources). It is a little slow to launch the program, but searches are quick and the scrolling speed of windows is acceptable.

Haha yes, the 2015 model.

Bill, does it lag if you have more commentaries loaded up? typically how many resources do you have opened at once?

I have 23 resources open in three windows and it I don't find it to lag.
I don't rely on the Macbook as my main computer. I have an i7 desktop PC for that. The Macbook is my mobile solution and for this use case, the performance trade-offs with a higher-performing system are acceptable to me.

l have the base model (256gb drive) with just over 12000 resources and it works well. For me load time is comparable to a 2013 MacBook Pro I was using a few months ago and search times are significantly faster (much of load time is connecting to Faithlife and syncing). With 7 linked panels scrolling in two windows it works fine. Although the processor is slower the new SSD interface really helps a lot. When indexing I rarely see cpu usage go above 100% (with two cores activity monitor shows combined core usage so max would show as 200%). It's also very light and absolutely silent. I use it as my only full Logos computer but I'm semi retired and I don't need to do sermons or studies every week.
