Visual Markup Workaround

Not a permanent solution, but since I simply cannot live without marking up my texts, I found a workaround. I created a notes file called "highlights".  When I want to mark a text I select it and add a blank note to "highlights".

 

The text stays highlighted after I close the notes file. And when I open the notes file, I have all the texts I selected in one place.
