It isn't entirely a new method.
When I lived in Alaska, there existed people who would "buy" a lawn mower from Walmart in the spring, return the "faulty" device in the fall, and "buy" a snow blower. Then in the spring they would return the "faulty" snow-blowing device and "buy" a lawn mower. And so on.
However, I am suppose that Michael's point might be that he is happy enough to pay for the book, but wishes he could have it at the publisher's discount price. I'd like that too. Being Vyrso and all, it never hurts to ask.
