Keeping open books open when switching to a layout

How do I keep all my open resources open and not lose them once I open a new layout?

For example: Let's say I have four (4) resources open that are not part of any layout. I just decided to read four books on a topic.

However, let's say I want to open a saved layout that does not have these four resources in it. Once I open my saved layout these four resources are no longer viewable.

So how do I keep them open while at the same time open a new layout?

You can save them in favorites or in bookmarks, open the new layout and then open those resources. I describe the process of saving them in favorites here.

Logos chose a bad name for "layout." I have long argued that there needs to be a major overhaul, including a change in nomenclature. The term "layout" should be reserved for the pattern, shape and size of tiles. If Logos HAD this feature, you could do what you instinctively think you should be able to do. But they don't and you can't.

You read 4 Books on a Topic...at the same Time? And than what happen? You don't read anymore and do something else with a Layout or you find some interesting Thought and like study this (Why you need to change the Layout for this?

I would do

1. Bring all four Books to the Short Cut Bar, so you can open them when ever you want.

2. You could create a Layout with your four Books and things you need in case you find something to study on.

Open a New Layout for me means I start a new Work, otherwise I would stay in my Layout and Work from there

Another Thing you could do is save your Four Books in a Layout and place this in the Short Cut Bar (don't forget to update active) so you can just go back where you have bin after you worked in the new Layout.

I don't think there's a way to keep any resource open that is not in favourties or otherwise and keep it/them open while opening up a saved layout. I guess I have to remember which books I have open and either save them in a favourites or just remember them, then open a saved layout and then reopen the books I was reading BEFORE I opened a layout.
