We've just got a new projector in our church which has a larger aspect ratio of 16:10 instead of the old 16:9, so I was just wondering if a new aspect ration would be coming out in a future version of Proclaim.
Hi, MCF. This has been suggested a few times on the forums already. The good news is that it's on our radar to try to support a 16:10 aspect ratio in a future update. The bad news is that it's not a trivial task; each piece of media has a 4:3 and a 16:9 format, so to add a 16:10 aspect ratio would mean a significant increase in the amount of media we'd have to support.
We try to always accommodate technology as it changes, so we'll do our best to get this feature out. Thanks for your feedback!
I have a very similar question and since this was a fairly new thread...so I thought I would post here.
I have been asked to evaluate new presentation software for my church (I currently installed our computer system, but we are sharing the building with another church established.) We are currently using a competing product that allows for our very specific video resolution as the projectors project on a section of wall that does not allow for the full 16:9 screen (and the partner church is using it this way with another product - but we do not want to change their setup.) In order to use the full "real estate" possible, in the "competitors" product we use, I have the ability to customize the output and set for displaying at 1010x720 (yes weird, but anything else "bleeds" onto another wall at a different angle.) I am afforded the options of "Stretch to Fill", "Scale to Fit", or "Scale to Fill" to accommodate this custom size and it works quite well.
So...obviously there is kind of a show stopper from moving forward. It kind confounds me that this would not be something that taken into account before. Why not instead of trying to add pegs to fit the individual boxes, make the one or two "pegs" (4:3/16:9 media) fit ANY box...
Thank you,

Hi Dan, 1010:720 is very close to 4:3 (around 4.2:3).
So you could use Proclaim in 4:3 and use your projector to make sure it it zoomed/scaled right to fit on the wall.
Proclaim will simply letterbox the top and bottom, but it should be very slight.
We very recently added support to fit irregular sized media to the selected aspect ratio, and we will probably end up adding similar support for allowing an entire presentation to be a non-standard aspect ratio.
Thanks for the feedback. I'd like to hear if my proposed solution works for you.
