Proximity Search Operators in lower case?

I was always taught that Proximity Search queries had to be ALL CAPS such as ...
love WITHIN 4 WORDS power
(this is also how to Logos help file demonstrates it)
but yesterday Morris' tip on the blog showed it like, WITHIN 4 words, and it worked!
Was this recently changed? The wiki also shows ALL CAPS (see the pasted section below)
Proximity Operators
Sometimes you may want more control than AND. Logos also offers proximity operators BEFORE, AFTER, WITHIN xx WORDS, and NEAR...
I did a few tests and got the same number of results both ways.

I used to not use capitals from 2009 (Logos 4) but Bradley was insistent that documentation should use WORDS!

It was always supposed to be this way, but an early version of the software allowed "words", so we left that ability in there (instead of taking it away from users who had become used to it). Our documentation should always use ALL CAPS.

Some operators, such as AND and OR, always have to be in caps; we think it's a little confusing to have to try to remember which are the exceptions so we try not to promote them in our training material.
