Change background on multiple slides at once
I have about a dozen slides interspersed throughout my presentation that I change every week to a new background. I don't want to duplicate slides and then move them because they all have different titles. Currently the quickest way I have found is select the slide, switch to the open media window (in which I previously selected my new background), and click "Apply to current item". Then repeat for every slide. It would be nice to have a way to select and update all the slides at once in one swell foop.

You bring up a good point; if you select multiple service items of the same type and want to apply a background you should be able to. I'll add that to our list of improvements.
In the meantime, the suggested backgrounds will probably be the quickest way to change the backgrounds for each service item. Here's a quick tutorial on suggested backgrounds.

I noticed the "Suggested Backgrounds", but the background I want is never one of the "Suggested", plus it doesn't really save me anything, because it's exactly the same number of operations (clicks) that I am currently using.

Some more thoughts. I would think that changing the background on ALL service items of the same type would NOT be something I would want to do. Ideally it would be nice to pick & choose all of the slides that I want to change and then apply the same background, however making multiple selections in the order of service pane or timeline might be difficult, so if I may make a suggestion. I noticed that if I add a service item with a particular background and then add another service item of the same type, I get the same background, so you must have somewhere you store a "default" background. If I had some way to specify that default background and then have an option on the right click menu to "Apply Default Background", I could scroll through the order of service right clicking and selecting that option.

To clarify, if I have two content service items and a video selected, I'd only want "Apply to current item" in the media browser to affect service items of the same type (there are no backgrounds for video service items). I certainly wouldn't want to set the background for all of the content service items in my presentation at once either :-)
I'll look into the idea that you have. Our current default background is black, but as you observed, we do preserve the last used background. Perhaps there could be some kind of go-to background and a shortcut to add that go-to background to multiple slides. Thanks for your input!
