Is it possible to skype while Proclaim is on-air?

My pastor would like to be able to Skype with missionaries during the Sunday morning services. And everything we do is in Proclaim. I put the presentations together but then I am the keyboard player. A volunteer sits in the booth and presses enter between slides.

Is there a way to easily Skype onscreen and have it automatically go through Proclaim? Something easy a volunteer could do? Or do we need to time things so I can jog to the booth, go off air, run the Skype, and then jog back up to the keyboard?

If you are running a Mac this will be easy to do running spaces.

Simply set up Skype in an adjacent space - when the time comes - swap to the adjacent space and make the call.

You might want to put a blank slide into Proclaim so that you can move swiftly on once you switch the space back.

It may not be the most visually inspiring experience but swapping spaces only takes a fraction of a second.

I have just tried this with my desktop and second monitor and can't think of a reason it wouldn't work with a projector.

Hi, Judy. As Mike pointed out, you can swap from the Proclaim screen to the Skype screen. Here's how I would do it:

Create a blank slide in the presentation where the Skype call is supposed to take place (this will let your volunteer know and smooth the transition).
Open Skype before the service and locate the contact to call, so all you have to do is click the green call button.
Go on air in Proclaim on Sunday. When your volunteer gets to the blank slide, instruct them to either use Alt + Tab or Cmd + Tab (Mac) to bring up the Skype window.
Start the Skype call. When it's over, Alt + Tab or Cmd + Tab back into Proclaim and proceed with the service.

The call won't be recorded as a part of your presentation, unfortunately. The transition will be relatively seamless, though, and should be easy enough for a volunteer to accomplish.

Thanks everyone for the replies! We use a PC, not a MAC. But we did figure it all out. We will just go off air, place the call, and drag the skype window into our projection screen area and then enlarge it. The conversation works with audio coming through the sound board and into the sanctuary. Then we hang up, drag the window back, close it, and go back on air in Proclaim. Just rehearsed it with the volunteer. Hooray! Live missionary updates during Sunday morning services on the big screen!
