Aditional installations of Logos 6

I have the Bronze edition of Logos 6 on my PC and was told I am allowed 5 installations. I am installing Logos 6 on my wife's laptop and need to know if she should log in with my account information, or if she needs a secons login attached to my account?

To elaborate a little on what SineNomine has stated. You can install Logos 6 on your wife's machine without any issues, however, if she is to see the same resources (books) that you have (the Bronze Base Package), she will have to be signed in with your username, otherwise she will just have the free books on her machine. It has be stated many times that Logos/Faithlife view a husband and wife as one, so it should be safe to share the user account without any licensing problems, but you cannot share your login information (and it wouldn't be safe to do so) with everyone else.

If you log in with your login Logos 6 will discover your licenses and download your resources And then index the collection.

If this does not happen, type Update Now in the Command Bar on your wife's Logos installation and hit Enter. This will trigger Logos to search for resources that belong to you and star to download them.

Thank you Erwin and Mark, we have it installed for her laptop and logged her in with my account. I was hoping that there would be a way to have a separate login so that she could create folders, searches etc and not have them updated on mine when I am logged in and visa versa. It seems that any changes I make will be on her logos and hers on mine which might get confusing, but I guess that is just the way they have it set up.

I was told by the rep that assisted me in purchasing the Bronze package that I could put it on up to 5 computers. If they allow 5 installations, then having separate logins would not change anything except the ease of use for the users:)

Separate Faithlife accounts allows individual Logos Libraries to have preferences, priorities, searches, layouts, ...

Note: two Logos libraries can have different resources, which are appropriate for each individual.

The End User License Agreement summary is:

Yes I am fully aware that separate accounts can have separate libraries etc. That is not the question or the issue

Suggest seeking clarification about 5 installations: are they limited to computers for your personal use ? (allows you to use your Logos library on many computers)

They have one computer, one email address, one copy of Windows, (one car? one cell phone?) etc. To me, they're "one user." Same thing when little Joey uses the family computer.

But if we extend the license to "officially" allow family use, we get (actual) scenarios like: Joe and Mary are both ordained ministers who attend and preach at different churches on Sunday morning. Each has an office, their own computer, their own salary and budget, and even their own church secretary. This, to me, doesn't feel like "one user". This feels like two users.

I was specifically told by the rep that It was OK to install this on my wife's computer and that I was allowed up to 5 users. This language says to me that 5 people can access the data I paid for using different PCs and or logins. However I obviously have found out this is not true.

If this is an issue, Ill just cancel the whole account and stop the payments. I don't know if any of you that responded are Logos employees or not, but if you are, I would suggest training the sales people better.

If you are wanting five different user accounts on one license you are talking about a site license which as far as I know Faithlife still does not offer. If you are talking of a family of five using a single license (one account) or one person using five installations (devices) or some mixture thereof is the "wiggle room" that is permitted under my understanding of the EULA as interpreted by the president of the company. I would suggest that you call Logos and discuss the precise details of your situation. The forums are simply users helping users. I suspect miscommunication between the Logos employee and yourself but will leave it to them to understand precisely what you are expecting and how it fits within their model.

Concur clarification is needed so have sent a request to Faithlife for follow-up. Thankful for Faithlife's desire to take care of their customers.

Personally am a volunteer with Many Volunteer Posts (MVP), who has enjoyed using Logos Bible Software for many years. My replies to this thread have included quotes from Bob Pritchett (CEO).

A number of couples fit the "one user" described by Bob Pritchett in 2009, who have adopted Logos usage strategies for sharing: e,g, layout naming with prefix along with concurrence on library prioritization. Other couples have separate Logos libraries for husband and wife, which allows individual differences (along with being more expensive due to the resources bought for both libraries).

When comparing Logos and Verbum on OS X and Windows, have had 4 installations of my library running at the same time. Also learned to not prioritize Library in two installations at the same time after experiencing sync surprises.

You can install Logos 6 on all the computers that you use, but we do not sell multi-user licenses. The software is licensed to one user only. https://www.logos.com/support/eula

Be sure to read Bob Pritchett's comments in the link KS4J provided, which is the most official Logos take on the EULA that you will ever receive—Unless Bob changes his mind, or course.
