Location not being saved in Presentation

Why is that sometimes the location is saved in a presentation and sometimes it's not? I have a presentation titled "00 Skeleton" that I have updated the location several times, but it is never saved. Another presentation "Last Supper" that I created from blank, has the location pre-loaded. Currently we are not broadcasting because we are implementing new features slowly, but I've noticed this inconsistency with the location, and would like to understand the process before starting to broadcast.

The location is stored as a field on the presentation. When it is set we automatically save the location as a group preference. When a new presentation is created (by anyone in the group) we use last saved location. This means you can have presentations with different locations but we'll always default new presentations to the last set location value.
