I am excited to share docx files for “The Journal and Letters of Francis Asbury” in three volumes.  Faithlife does not sale this.  This is an invaluable work to anyone of the Methodist / Wesleyan tradition, and an important edition for almost any Christian’s library.  It is also of tremendous interest to anyone interested in early American history.  Asbury met the leading men of early America, such as George Washington.

This great work has hundreds of great footnotes that are live in the personal book.

My thanks to the Wesley Heritage Publishing, who generously gave me permission to convert and share these files.  Wesley Heritage Publishing holds the copyright to the PDF files that I used.  Their generosity saved countless hours of work.  They also have lots of great Wesleyan materials available, and they well worth checking out.

Wesleyan Heritage Publishing simply asks that no one be charged anything for these files.

Asbury’s heart for God is inspiring.  On the ship bound for America, Asbury writes:

“Thursday, 12. I will set down a few things that lie on my mind. Whither am I going? To the New World. What to do? To gain honour? No, if I know my own heart. To get money? No: I am going to live to God, and to bring others so to do.”

And he would tirelessly give himself in living to God, and bringing others to do so.

Each of the three volumes is too large to be uploaded to the Faithlife server which has a 5 megabyte limit.  So I have provided links to the files in my Dropbox account.  It seems the best solution for those who want the files.  The actual files are named Asbury 1.docx, Asbury 2.docx, and Asbury 3.docx.  The links are below.

The text is great, and the footnotes are live and very helpful in Logos.  The spacing and format is not perfect, but that is no problem to me.  Some of the Scripture references need reworking into a Logos compatible format.  Someone may want to perfect the files.  I find them fine for my purposes as they are.
