Unread Forum posts

Just curious,is there some significance to the location of the red dot on the icon along side unread forum posts? The dot appears to show up upper left, lower left, or lower right. I thought at first it somehow indicates what class of user last updated, but now I'm not sure.

I think upper left is for unread.

And the other two are 'popular' posts. Not sure how the posts are counted as popular, but thats what the tooltip said. The one on the bottom right is a pinned popular post.

Thanks, as I said, I was just curious if there was some intelligence in which one was red. It bugs me when I notice things like that.

OK, upper left means a new topic I have never read, lower left means a new post has been added to a topic since I last read it. Still haven't figured out the right side.
