Video Issues

Hi Guys

I am currently looking in to switching from MediaShout to Proclaim.  I have a couple of questions/concerns regarding video files as well as a couple of other issues.

The first issue is when I load a video as a local file and the aspect ratio is different than the screen, it adds the black background because of the transparency and part is goods.  The problem is when I open the presentation on our projection computer, the video plays but with a white background because the transparency is gone and there is no thumbnail image.  The video file, which is large, is on a shared network drive that both computers have access to.

The second issue is regarding videos that have been uploaded to the group.  The videos that I have a problem with start out black and because of that the thumbnail image is black.  The issue is that it is very hard to locate the correct video you want because the only way that you can see the file name is by clicking on each video and looking at the information on the right hand side of the screen.  This is not a problem now but it will be once there are more videos scattered through out the group.  I can see the group getting filled up with multiple copies of the same file because we are unable to find the video we are looking for.

Another issue is that I can only have one service entered.  Is it possible to have multiple times?  We have two services that are identical on Sunday morning.  We would have to change the start time depending on which service we are at.

The last issue is the default location of the lyrics text box.  Is there any way to change the default location or make a template that can be applied?

When you add an item to a presentation as a local file it preserves the local file path, so you may have to add it on the presentation computer even though they're accessing the same file. We've had one user who had issues adding a video from a mapped network drive, which he resolved by copying the file to his projection computer desktop, adding it as a video in Proclaim, then deleting the file after the service. I can look into this more if this doesn't solve the problem.

The tagging system is the best way to organize files in the Media Browser. We're looking at better ways to represent these files so you can identify them without having to rely on thumbnails. Unfortunately, we don't have an option in the app to set the thumbnail offset.

You can duplicate a presentation for different service times.

We preserve the default location of the text box, but you can create any number of song template service items and then reuse them quickly from the Add Item menu. Orient the elements on the slide as you'd like them for a service item, then add it for any future similar service items.
