Help with Feature

Hey Proclaim team and users,

I'm wondering about a feature. There may be a way to accomplish this, but if there is...I can't figure it out.

I'd like to use .png or .jpg images as song slides. Our church is venturing into Hand Drawn Lyrics and we are wanting to be able to use the slides over still or moving backgrounds. I've been able to import the slides into one Image Slideshow in the correct order, so that part works awesome.

Where we are lacking is being able to add a background behind the images (still or moving). Is there a way to accomplish this in Proclaim? If not, are there plans to add this feature in the future. I realize it is an unusual request, but my guess is, since this practice is growing in popularity, you will probably receive increasing requests for this feature.

Currently, you would have to use one content item per song slide. Then you would set the background to the motion or still and use the foreground image option to add your transparent png, handrawn lyrics.

Jordan - that is what I thought. Not terribly friendly at this point...plus, the motion background would reset with each change of the slide. So, really only practical with stills.

The motion shouldn't reset if the adjacent items are using the same motion background.

Scott - maybe I'm missing something, but I've been trying this. The same motion background is used for several adjacent content items, but the background resets from the beginning of the motion.

Hi, Luke. I'm investigating what you've described and come across some unusual results so far. Normally I'd suggest that you check the "Loop video" box before you set the video as the background, but it looks like you've already done so. What's strange is that when I add a looped video of my own and transition between content service items the motion background doesn't reset.

I tested the transitions between the slides in your presentation and can confirm that the motion backgrounds are (incorrectly) resetting.

I'll be looking more closely at this tomorrow and get back to you with my results. In the meantime, you could try re-uploading the motion background and checking the "Loop video" box on upload. Add it to a couple slides and see if it works correctly. If not, hopefully I'll dig up enough to root this bug out.

Thanks Peter! I tried several of the things you mentioned, including different backgrounds. I thought maybe using Pro Media backgrounds might fix the issue, but as you'll see...no such luck. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi, Luke. I've tracked down the cause of the issue: we're regenerating slide backgrounds when you have a foreground image on the slides. This is why your song slides weren't working -- the handwritten images are causing the video to restart whenever the slide changes. We're looking into a fix for this right now. While we're fixing it, I'd recommend using regular text on your song slides if you want the motion background to play continuously.

Thanks, Peter. I was hoping that wasn't the case, but I appreciate you guys looking into the matter. Our church is slowly transitioning to hand-written lyrics, so I'll probably end up using a still background for now. Again - thanks for the quick responses!
