This week the Lectionary Readings (RCL) are... Old Testament 2 Ki 2:1–2, 6–14 or 1 Ki 19:15–16, 19–21 (I am tackling 2 Kings 2 1-18 just to be awkward) Psalm Ps 77:1–2, 11–20 or Ps 16 New Testament Ga 5:1, 13–25 Gospel Lk 9:51–62 Having looked for a background for the 2 Kings reading the best slide I found was a Bible verse slide for Kings 2:11. Of course this cannot be co-opted as the general background of the service due to the permanence of the text. I wondered what suggestions there might be for inspirational backgrounds to be used as the main (backdrop) theme for the service next Sunday and especially if anyone has any good ideas for a background for a service concentrating on the Elijah story.
