Speaker's Display

I'm wondering about the physical setup people are using at smaller churches. I'm wondering specifically about the speakers display.

Like many, I'm coming from PowerPoint to Proclaim, one feature in PowerPoint I did like was the Presentation Mode. I could see the current slide, what was coming next, and my notes, all at the same time. Seeing the slide and my notes which correspond to each slide was very useful. In Proclaim I must choose between the two. The song leader needs to be able to see the song, the speaker needs notes (preferable along with the slides).The Remote App comes closer to having this, but doesn't seem like a real fix at this point.

We are a small church, about 80. We don't have someone sitting back in a booth. The presentation is controlled but a Remote (USB) by the song leader and the speaker.

When I was in a smaller church I just set a large monitor near the projector which faced the dais so that I could see the songs.

At the moment I set up a local wi-fi network so that I can change the slides from the presentation computer and not be tied to the projector by wires. This allows me to see the presentation screen on the the computer - the song words on the monitor - and the congregation to see the presentation on the screen.

Not a hi-tec or sophisticated system but ideal for a journeyman preacher and for a small church without built-in tech.

Yes - that is my standard set up. If I can I get somebody in the congregation to run the presentation from the computer for me.

Unfortunately while the remote (iPhone) seems to work at home (where I have wi-fi) I have been unable to get it to work in environments where the only wi-fi is the local network.

Because I am working in different churches each week I get limited time to try and work out why this may be. At home the local network is still set up and the apple express and the iPhone are linked to it. I need the apple express because I am still using the last generation apple tv.

Even without the remote the set-up works well providing I avoid videos where lip sync would be a problem.

I don't actually use notes on the slides but I think you are right.
