Problems with NSBT Resources
Is anyone able to open NSBT resources on a Kindle Fire HD (or any other Android based device)? They download fine on my Fire HD, but when selecting them (I've tried three), I get a message that there was an error trying to open the resource. There's a "Try again" option, but it results in the same error message.

I just encountered another anomaly with resources from the NBST series, but this time in Windows 10 on my laptop. I selected text to which I wanted to add a note. When I right clicked on the selected text, there was no option to add a note for the resource I was reading. So I selected the "Documents" tab expecting to find the resource listed there, but it wasn't. I then selected the "Notes" option under the "Documents" tab, and it opened a new untitled "Notes" tab.
This is not consistent with the current Logos behavior with other resources for which it automatically creates a "Notes" document for the resource when the first note is added, and assigns the title of the resource to the Notes document.

Thanks, Graham! That did it. I was not aware that a highlight was required for this to work, and just by chance, this was the first resource I've worked with where I attempted to add a note prior to having done any highlighting. It sure seems counter-intuitive to me that this would be a requirement since we're dealing with a "Notes" document. For clarification: A note document named for the resource is only created IF you have "resource specific" behavior chosen as the storage location for highlights. As Graham mentioned, it is created when you add the first highlight to a resource, provided the above criteria is met.

Rick, I was able to open an NSBT resource on my Kindle Fire HD. I have only bought one book in the series thus far (Father, Son and Spirit: The Trinity and John's Gospel) so I can't confirm whether others would open or not, but that one does.

I am now able to open some of the resources on my Fire HD, but not others
Given time has permitted a change in your access to resources, this suggests to me that your tablet is still indexing your library. If after a day or so you find that you are still unable to open all of your resources then something else may be going on.

My version is 5.3.4 (Build 503040100). You should update.
Edit: Your version 4.5.0 (Build 419) although the oldest supported version is reported as stable. So, no problems there.

All NSBT resources work with version 5.3.4 of the Logos Bible app but I expect you can't upgrade to that version because your Fire HD is no longer supported. I recommend that you purchase a newer device.

Thanks for that info. Just to clarify though, are you running that build on a Fire "HD", or is it perhaps a Fire "HDX" or something even newer? That would appear to be the case, although I don't know the exact details for these particular resources. What I do know is that (currently) Kindle Fire HD devices older than 2013 can't run the current version of the Bible app (5.3.4) and version 4.5.0 is no longer supported. Resources are recompiled over time to allow for new features to work and this sometimes means older versions of our apps are no longer able to use those resources.

As the above image shows, there are four different "Fire HD" devices and three of them are not supported. If you are not using a Kindle Fire HD (2013) KFSOWI, your device is not supported. Kindle Fire HD devices older than 2013 can't run the current version of the Bible app (5.3.4).
I was assuming that the "KF" numbers listed for each device in the image you provided were model numbers, none of which matched the model number printed on the back of my Fire HD 8.9. That was leaving me unsure of where my unit fit in regard to the image you provided. I.e. The model listed on the back of my device is 3HT7G. However, within the desktop Logos app, when I click on the info icon for a resource and scroll down, it lists a few devices, one of which reads "Amazon KFJWI". I'm not sure why/how Logos converts the model number 3HT7G printed on the back of my device to KFJWI within Logos, but apparently it does, and KFJWI is one of the devices your image indicates is not supported by the most recent version of the mobile app.
If you can point me to a conversion table that cross-references the Logos identifiers for Kindle devices with the actual model numbers assigned by Amazon, it will help me determine if any replacement device I'm considering qualifies as a device that is supported by the newest mobile release.

The model numbers assigned by Amazon are shown in the image I attached earlier; the image came from Amazon, not Faithlife. The Logos Desktop app doesn't create it's own device identifiers. The devices that have a green checkmark (in the image) are compatible with our apps.
Please see https://developer.amazon.com/appsandservices/solutions/devices/kindle-fire/specifications/01-device-and-feature-specifications for more information; if you search that page for "build.model" you'll see that Amazon uses "KFJWI" as the model for your device.

I forgot to mention, if you do end up purchasing a Kindle device it's better to get one that supports Fire OS 5. If you purchase a device that runs Fire OS 4 it's not likely that a future OS upgrade will be made available from Amazon, which will eventually cause a compatibility issue with our apps. Google devices offer a much longer life in terms of Android OS upgrades but if you're staying with Amazon it's better to buy the newest Kindle you can afford.

It's interesting (i.e. strange and frustrating) that the model numbers Amazon has on the actual devices don't match the numbers they use in the charts and give to developers. About a year and a half ago I asked a Faithlife rep what the Amazon codes in the "Device" section of the resource information panel meant, but she said she didn't have a clue. Now I know.
