Did anyone notice that Logos Now went from being $89/year to $99/year?
Thanks!
Nathan, I am still seeing $89.99.
Unless we're grandfathered in or this is a typo, scroll to the bottom of this page:
https://www.logos.com/now
When I put it in mycart, it gave me $10 off the $99. I was on the Logos Cloud page and noticed that the yearly price is cheaper than Logos Now. Cloud includes Now, correct? What would I miss out on if I went with the Basic Cloud instead of Logos Now?
Cloud includes Now, correct?
I don't think so... Although I do believe that Logos Cloud includes the datasets (if that is what you mean). I don't think Logos Cloud includes the other "perks" of the "Logos Now" subscription.
Oh I see, that would make sense! Thanks!

I don't remember Faithlife announcing the price increase when announcing the new membership. If they did, sorry if I'm mistaken, but if they didn't, I'm not pleased with their increasing the price without notifying us first. $10 isn't bad, but it's the principle of the matter.
I would like to know how the features of Logos Cloud fit into the new membership model in Logos Now. There hasn't been any announcements there, and it would be good to know.
I have no idea what you are talking about... but the first time I heard of the program, the price was $89. The current price is $89 ($99-$10=$89). Am I missing something?

The website mentions one can get the first year of it at that price. Since I'm a current Logos Now member, I'm guessing this means I cannot renew at this price (my renewal will be processed in November). Plus with all the new membership announcements, I don't remember Faithlife announcing there would be any price increase. I assumed we'd continue to pay $89/year. They mentioned the end of monthly pricing but I don't remember any mentioning of a price increase.
Nathan, I too have noticed they are hiking the price up to $99 annually after the "limited time offer" of $89 goes away.
Logos Now is priced at $99.99, but is discounted by $10 until the end of the year. Any new and renewing annual Logos Now membership will pay $89.99 for an annual membership until 12/31/16. On January 1, the $10 discount will no longer apply and any new and renewing annual Logos Now membership will pay $99.99. Nathan, when your renewal is processed in November, you’ll pay $89.99. I hope that helps.
Within the last week I paid $89.
I don't remember Faithlife announcing the price increase when announcing the new membership. If they did, sorry if I'm mistaken,
It was announced ahead of time on the forums: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/128695.aspx
It was announced on the main site at launch: https://www.logos.com/now
A few days later it was blogged about: https://blog.logos.com/2016/08/new-logos-now-membership-something-everyone/
The mistake was probably an email was sent out on 9 Aug "Your Logos Now Membership just got better" that didn't mention or link to the price rise, but trumpeted the other benefits.
Hi Mark, I promise I'm not trying to be argumentative but:
I don't see anything about the annual price going up at the beginning of the year in this post. All I see is that the monthly option will end at the beginning of the year and that subscribing for a year is equivalent to saving two months off of the monthly price.
Once again, I don't see anything about the price going up at the first of the year.
As you said, it was announced on the new site yesterday. Until this, I had no knowledge that $89.99 was a first year price.
I must say this increase is new to me as well. I heard about only annual but not an increase

I re-examined the forum and blog links carefully. Neither mention the price increase. The blog specifically states $89.99/year.
The only place that mentions the price increase is the Logos Now website at the bottom. Unless you're a keen observer, most probably didn't even notice it.
While I'm not too upset over $10, what I am upset about is the principle of the matter. Faithlife never specifically and clearly announced ahead of time that there would be a price increase in Logos Now moving forward on the new membership after a brief introductory period. Faithlife made it certainly seem as if our annual pricing would remain the same. I'm not pleased with Faithlife silently performing a price increase (even though it's a small one) without better and clearer alerting us to the fact it was coming. Next time you make a major announcement concerning changes to Logos Now memberships that involves a price increase, please make it painfully aware to customers "there will be a small price increase after an inductory period" so we at least are aware of it.

Access to the "Logos Cloud Feature Set" is a benefit of Logos Now membership. The "Logos Cloud Feature Set" is features only. This is not be confused with Logos Cloud, ala https://logoscloud.com, which is access to the “Logos Cloud Feature Set” and a small, medium, or large library (i.e. Essentials, Plus, Premium). Stated another way, Logos Now is a membership program that has member benefits such as access to the "Logos Cloud Feature Set", discounts on base packages, discounts on resources, free preview resources, and other benefits. Logos Cloud Essentials, Plus, or Premium is simply subscription access to Features and a Library.
It does help that I will be renewed at $89.99/year this year, and I can brace myself for the price increase next year, but after reading your forum post and the blog post that went out concerning the membership changes, why was a mention of this not included in your forum post or the blog post? Why wasn't the price increase made clearer to existing Logos Now members?
Thanks for the information about Logos Cloud and Logos Now. I do understand the basic concept of Logos Cloud (subscription access to features and libraries), but Logos Cloud subscribers or potential subscribers are confused in general about how Logos Cloud fits into the new membership model in Logos Now. Some are wondering if they should subscribe to both Logos Cloud and Logos Now to receive all the benefits (Disclaimer: I do). A forum post on the Cloud forums clarifying how Logos Cloud fits into the overall marketing strategy of L7 and the new Logos Now membership would dramatically simplify what Logos Cloud current and potential subscribers wish to do.
what I am upset about is the principle of the matter. Faithlife never specifically and clearly announced ahead of time that there would be a price increase in Logos Now moving forward on the new membership after a brief introductory period.
Here is what is ironic. You are able to get LN at the $89 rate, right? You are also complaining that you didn't get advanced warning about a price increase, right? Isn't that what they are doing? Giving advanced warning? [^o)]
Isn't that what they are doing? Giving advanced warning?
Nope. If he had not went to the web site, which you should not have to do on a regular basis, we would have never known this.
If I have a recurring charge on my credit card and that charge changes, I want personal contact. Not a web site blurb.
As far as I know, Faithlife has not notified its users through email or any other communications channel other than that one little banner that pops up on the screen. This popup is a sales pitch and is worded in a way that it is intended for people who have not subscribed yet.
So far, none of the Now subscribers in this thread knew anything of it until now. Not much of a notification.

Precisely my point. Since I have a series of annual and monthly services, I like to be notified of any price changes before they go into effect without my having to visit the website and discover it myself. Since a similar issue happened in the past with BSM which turned out to be a mistake (I logged into my subscriptions page and noticed BSM was set to renew at $35/year versus $20/year), come next year had I and others have seen a charge for $99 on my credit card for Logos Now, we'd all be calling into Faithlife questioning the charge asking if it were a mistake or a price increase.
Since Faithlife had the ability to send out forum posts, blog posts, and emails discussing all the great new benefits our membership offered, a simple paragraph about the price increase would have been beneficial to inform Faithlife customers it was coming. I shouldn't have to scour the Faithlie and Logos websites and point out marketing mistakes on Faithlife's part like some political action organization. :-)
Ah. I see your point. [Y]
Nathan, I agree we could have communicated this better yesterday. Last week, we intentionally scheduled email communications to start sending later this week announcing to all existing Logos Now members that the price you'll pay starting January 1 will go up $10/yr and that if your auto-renew is up before then, we'll auto-renew you at $89.99.
We made the decision last week to send it out later this week so it wouldn't get lost in all the Logos 7 announcement communication because we didn't want our customers to miss the change. We figured this was acceptable since the actual date this price increase would take effect was over 4 months away. It was always our plan to clearly communicate with Logos Now members.
Also, if you wanted to add on additional years of Logos Now at the $89.99 price, you could do so prior to January 1. You would just need to add Logos Now to cart and check out for each year you wanted to add on.
That's interesting.

I apologise for misreading the links I posted.
But let's get this into perspective. Logos Now was $89.99 at launch. It's going to be $89.99 until the end of the year (that's nearly four months away). I appreciate that this wasn't clear from the Logos Now page (it sounded like existing subscribers would be charged $99.99 for their upcoming renewals), but now we know that the increase isn't going to apply until January 2017, can we agree that's sufficient notice?

Thanks for the information. That would have been good to send out in a secondary email, but it would had been best to originally announce it on the blog, forums, the existing email explaining the changes to the membership, etc. Then send out a secondary email for those of us who still overlooked the first line of communication. :-) Since announcements were going out explaining changes to our Logos Now membership any way, it would have been an excellent opportunity to discuss the price increase. In fact, when I originally read all the announcements, I was wondering if any pricing changes would be occurring.

I'm glad Faithlife clarified everything up, although it's typical of Faithlife to have issues with clear communication. I've seen it in the L7 release, the Logos Now membership changes, the original rollout of Logos Now, L6, L5, L4, etc. I've gotten used to the fact that as long as I remain a Faithlife customer, there will always be issues with clear communication. I do IT consulting for a company with as much (or even more) issues with clear communication, so I guess I just have to live with it in multiple areas of my life and get used to it. :-)
I just received the email notification that was supposed to go out this week. It still doesn't explicitly state that Logos Now is increasing to $99.99/year. It only obliquely words it this way;
The good news is that the annual membership is less expensive overall. If you switch to the annual membership before the end of the year, you’ll pay only $89.99 for a year’s membership
The customer has to click over to the Logos Now page and read the bottom banner to realize there is a price increase.
While Faithlife/Logos has clarified the price increase for me (as well as others who read the forums), I'm still not pleased that Faithlife/Logos hasn't explicitly stated in an email to customers that there will be a price increase after the introductory period. While I hope most customers are savvy enough to check the Logos Now membership page or these forums, for the ones who aren't, the way Faithlife/Logos continues to handle this unintentionally makes Faithlife/Logos look deceptive in its marketing practice. While I'm not worried about a $10 increase, I am concerned that Faithlife/Logos hasn't been transparent and clear enough in their communication to customers about the price increase. Had the price increase had been more dramatic, the fallout would have been far worse.
While Faithlife/Logos suffers from poor communication overall, I'm distributed they're bringing it into the services area. As one who has multiple active subscriptions with Faithlife/Logos (Logos Now, BSM, Logos Cloud), I'm now going to have to be even more vigilant to watch for future price increases across services in case Faithlife/Logos deceides to increase the price of those services more dramatically without notification.
Again, I'm not concerned over $10. I'm concerned with the principle of the way Faithlife/Logos is failing to clearly communicate the matter to customers who aren't as vigilant as some.
just seeing this. But I have to say that a year's notice is sufficient for me and as long as I renew the second time before the one year mark, I will renew then for no more than 99.
Year 1 =89
Year 2 =99
Total = Steal-of-a-Deal
And considering that I paid monthly last year instead of annually, it's actually going to be cheaper this year, and they also gave now subscribers a 10 dollar coupon just before L7 launched to use on their next purchase. I'm consistantly impressed by Faithlife's generosity

Nathan, here's the email announcement that went out to annual subscribers notifying them of the price increase:
Update on your Logos Now membership
You are receiving this email because you have an annual membership to Logos Now. Effective January 1, the price for an annual membership will increase to $99.99 per year. Auto-renewals before the end of this year will be charged $89.99.
If you would like to take advantage of the lower rate, you can pre-pay for your next year at $89.99, and another year will be added to your current membership. Simply visit the website and add a membership to your cart. You can pre-pay for as many years as you want, but each year of membership must be purchased in a separate transaction.
Thanks for being a Logos Now member!
Do you consider that sufficiently clear?

Thanks for checking into this Phil. This is sufficiently clear and to my expectations. I'm on an annual subscription but never received this email (but I'm glad it went out to others on annual plans. I already questioned the increase here so it was already answered for me). I've noticed in my account there's an annual subscription tied to a monthly subscription. Could that have been what caused me not to receive the email since it flagged the monthly subscription? Just curious.
Anyway, I'm glad it did go out to annual subscribers allowing them to crystal clear be informed of the price increase. Thanks for handling this and I thoroughly appreciate it.

I'm annual as well and I haven't received this email. I have a monthly subscription showing in my account from when I did the one month trial, so maybe you're on to something there. I did get an email informing me that the monthly memberships will cease on Dec 31, so they are seeing me as a monthly member, and not an annual one! I sent an email to CS to have the monthly subscription removed; I want a smooth auto renewal when the time comes.
Thanks for reporting that you didn't get the annual members email, but should have. It may have been related to when we pulled the list of members by monthly vs. annual. We're looking into it.
I re-checked my junk folder to ensure I didn't miss it. It's definitely not there. I think people who started monthly and later converted to annual (I did) didn't receive it. What I showed above my guess was sent out to monthly subscribers (makes sense).
So thanks for checking on that.
I definitely didn't receive it. Like Nathan, I concerted to annual later later.
Something to think about Logos just this month gave a free $10.00 gift. I know i used mine right away[:D]
Something to think about Logos just this month gave a free $10.00 gift. I know i used mine right away
Yeah. While I'm not thrilled that they didn't notify the price increase when they pushed the Now revamp two weeks before 7, in the 13 months I've had Now, I've gotten like $40-$60 our of coupons & credits (can't remember exactly how much). Keeping that in mind, it's been a pretty good deal.
I am still doing the $8.99 per month thing, which I believe is good until the end of the year and then I will need to renew yearly.
It is but I'd recommend transitioning over to yearly at least by December to lock in your $89.99 price for the first year.
By the way, the email Phil showed went out to me today, so everyone who was on monthly and transitioned to yearly should have received it. Thanks for getting that sent out!
I got it as well. Thanks!
