i purchased the wordstudy bible years ago with libronix.now some 1750 items plus in my logos 4 my wordstudy bible is not the same as my print bible.

i want it back it is faster to look up words and tense for me because it is there.if i want to use an interlinear i can.

i buy products to use as i will.my process is slowed down.

what is planed to give me what i purchased.

i do not want to be forced to use stuff in my portfolio when iam looking for speed.

if i want in depth i have that option.

when are the numbers going to be added back to the complete wordstudy?

I am not to sure what you are asking here. Are you saying that you want Logos to produce the notes from a actual word study bible ? Or add stuff to the word study bible that you own already ?

If you right mouse click on a word it will give you strong's number as well as options to search or look up on that number as shown below. Does this help you make this resource useful? While the numbers are not inline, if you hover your mouse over a word the strong's number is shown in a popup.

For what it's worth, the reverse interlinears offer almost all the functionality of the Complete Word Study Bible (including Strongs), with lots of extras too. Have you tried turning on the interlinear in the KJV?

Then give us credit for the purchase and let us pick some other tool. We purchased the Complete Word Study Bible because it was helpful - both in contents and format. If you are making it less useful, then give us something in return.

Now, I say that partially with tongue in cheek - but on the other hand I found the Complete Word Study Bible useful. This is true for the paper version and the L3 version. I do hope that LOGOS brings back the tool we purchased.

But I'm confused. If you have purchased a resource, it should still be available to you. If you are talking of a program function, then yes, features change. If you'll identify the name of the resource, we may be able to help.

In Logos 3, the Complete Word Study Bible displayed Strong's Numbers inline in the text. In Logos 4 the Strong's Numbers are still there, but they don't display inline. You can view them on hover, you can right-click and search on them, but you can't actually see them.

Probably could - but I then bought two books. I purchased the Complete Word Study Bible to complement the use of my written copy. I neither own, nor want to own, the KJV reverse-interlinear. Other than it was part of a base package, I would not own it even within LOGOS.

Question to others - has a change been made to the L3 version of the Complete Word Study Bible? My copy in L3 does not display Strong's numbers though I get them through links.

Nope. Go to "view" next to "search" and select or turn on the strong option.

Thanks Ted - I thought I was going mad [:)]. This is what I would also like to see in L4.

By the way, if I chose to hind the Strong numbers, and only use the Key Links, L3 is substantially faster in displaying them than L4 is in displaying "Cited By" links.

Why should I purchase both? I purchased CWSB because it complemented what I already owned. Now the LOGOS version has less value - both because it does not show Strong numbers and because the time needed to search for related resources is considerably longer in L4 than in L3.

I note that the Complete Word Study Bible is still sold on the LOGOS web site for $80 - for use in either L3 or L4. It is also included in the portfolio edition. If the functionality is intended to duplicate the KJV interlinear, why sell both?

Looking at the preview of the hard copy on Amazon (Logos provides the link), it appears that you do have a valid complaint if the Strong's numbers aren't showing. Talk to Customer Service to determine what Logos' intention was with the change. I'm certain that it wasn't to deprive you of the use of a resource for which you had paid.

I'm still confused. You said above that you do own the KJV reverse interlinear. This offers all the functionality (and more!) of the CWSB. So why not use it? What can you do in CWSB that you can't do with the reverse interlinear? To be frank, Strong's Numbers solved a problem very well, but using 19th century technology. I'm not sure what advantage there is in having them in the way there were in Logos 3. Can I gently suggest it might be better to learn how to achieve the same goals in study using the 21st century technology of Logos 4?

Mark, I think you are missing his point, he spent extra money for the complete wordstudy bible, because he liked the book and wanted to use it just like it was.

Now after he bought the book, Logos has changed the book he bought, he does not like that!!! I am one of those guys that do not like Strong's numbers for several reasons that most people that like the Strong's numbers do not understand, but I also own the same book he is talking about, and if I had used it for years and now had a feature changed, I would be disappointed too! It would really bother me if I also had a paper book that I used in conjuction with my electronic copy and now the two no longer match.

Sure he has the KJV Reverse Interlinear that he could learn to use, but he also paid for that, but would rather just have his old book back the way it was, the way he paid to have it!

I personally do not like the way they have the new Reverse Interlinear's I want my old ESV Reverse Interlinear to be just like the one was in Libronix 3, but so far it has not been changed. At least in my example a change has been promised. I lost something when my ESV Interlinear went from Libronix 3 to Logos 4, Floyd lost something when his complete wordstudy bible went from Libronix 3 to Logos 4, and he would like it back. He paid for it to be the way it was not the way it is now!

I see things somewhat differently, I guess. I don't think Logos has changed the book Floyd and Tim bought. I think Logos 4 changed the way that book displays. I therefore see that as a software issue, not a resource issue. When I read the description given on the Logos site, I think the product fulfils that description in both Logos 4 and Logos 3. It looks different on both programs - and you could argue that one is better than the other - but they both work as advertised.

When we all switched to Logos 4, we all lost certain things, and we all have our pet moans about which of those things are important (in my case it was parallel resource associations, but that's now fixed in 4.0b, and its better in Logos 4). I really don't mind people saying "I miss this feature from Logos 3. I miss it for this reason. Please consider adding it back to Logos 4". I've said that often. But I don't think it's reasonable for any of us to expect that every feature from L3 will be in L4, or to expect refunds if some features aren't quite the same. From Logos' point of view, I also think its reasonable for users to at least be willing to try new ways of doing things if those ways are designed to be better than the old ways.

I bought that book to run in version 3 and it still does. I am also greatly thankful that most of my resources are available in version 4 for free. I did not need to spend money to get them into a totally new program.

i have portfolio and much more.i can use halot,gesenius,bdag,and i do i will not list them all.

yet when i would read from the complete,i could quickly get a clue as to what the word is.

lastly,i do not prefer the interlinerat the bottom of the page and the wait for definitions.

when i want to thresh out a word i think logos4 is awesome.

you're right. that's what i have to do if i am reading a few chapters and want a quick non indepth

Well Mark, I am glad that Logos allows and I hope even desires to know when a customer is not happy with something they did.

You may or may not agree with this example Mark, but many of the features that are being added back in to Logos 4 are going to be added back in differently because people like Timothy spoke up and told them how they felt about something that they did not like.

I see no difference in this case, it is a perfect chance for Logos to get feedback about their product and how they can make changes, either independently without considering what the end user is saying about the change or thye can make changes after listening to their customers with the intent of meeting their needs.

At least in my world, in many cases it is the negative feedback that helps me the most! It is also the negative feed back that I want to hear the least, but in the end it is that negative feedback that produces the post growth in me.

On the other hand, we also need to let Logos know what a great job they are doing, and how they are meeting our needs. So far, I have yet to see a company that is as wonderful as Logos is at trying to help us study the scriptures, and over all there is no product that can do what Logos does, but it will be even better when we do not need both Libronix 3 and Logos 4 to do our studies, take our notes and read our PBB files.

The issue here seems to be that because of the change in the way the information from the CWSB is accessed has changed, there is a complaint. The truth is all the info is still there. It is just accessed in a different way. Logos may go back as they might with the Interlinears if they hear enough of these complaints. I personally like the new way better.

Wow, I like something in Logos 4 better and am stating it an defending it. The powers to be at Logos might have a cow reading this.

So until they do that, if they do, the original poster needs to know how to access his information and that has been explained.

Kevin while what you said might be true, that all the information is still there, I think there is more to this than just having the information there.

In many cases it is not just having information that is important to us, it is having it presented in way that is the most useful to us.

I use bible software not just because it contains the same information as paper books, but because the books become searchable, I can carry more books with me, I can go from book to book faster and many more reasons.

In this case these customers are complaining not because the information is not there, but because the new way to access it does not meet their needs like the source did when they bought it. Of course since I don't use Strong's numbers that doesn't bother me, but it has bothered me when Logos changed other things that were important to me, such as notes. When I bought and paid for the upgrade from Libronix 3 to Logos 4, I expected to see things to be better, in many cases they were not!

And less we forget, when those of us that bought Logos 4 on day one there were no lists of features that were lost and going to be added back later, those things have in many cases come after the fact not before.

My point is not only do we all have a right as customers to complain about things we don't like, those complaints could very well help everyone out in the future. Please keep in mind there is more to some of these complaints than just is the information there or not, but how that information is accessed is an important issue too!

And equally important I hope we can all remember to give thanks for all the good things that Logos has done for us. I have seen some of that brought up too, and that is good to see!

Though the two books have the same title, I would argue that they are not the same resource. Two major differences have been identified:

In the V3 version, Strong's numbers are in-line with the text. In V4, Strong's numbers are only accessible on word at a time when choosing that word
The speed in which related books are revealed is considerably slower in V4 compared to V3. Though search speed is considerably faster in V4, it does not work that way when finding related resources using Strong numbers. Posing related resources is several times slower in V4 compared to V3.
