I'm sorry, but I don't know how to do a screen shot. All I know is that when I clicked on a word in "The Complete Word Study Bible" numerous resources were linked that would allow me to see, instantly, the information that I needed. I sure want help on this problem. And i appreciate your answer, even if I could not answer yours.

Yes, I have discovered the 'right-click' feature. It was not necessary in Logos 3 and saved a lot of time when I wanted to do a word study. I just don't understand why the word "number" does not even appear. Can you help me with this. I'm about ready to go back to Logos 3 because the key-link feature was so useful and functional. What if you used the information window? The second entry of the word is the Strongs when you hover over what you want. That is the best way I can think of to get where you are going. I don't know about other people's system but the Information takes a long time to populate on mine.

Damian,it's just a quick/convenience thing. As I think I mentioned, in L3 I could click on the number and would immediately pull up my 4 or 5 favorite lexicons--AT ONCE!. No 'right-clicking' at all. It was a one-step does all kind of thing--and I miss it!.

I love that for it allowed me to quickly do word studies by accessing all my awesome lexicons. I have the L4 portfolio...plus other top of the line academeic Gk and Heb lexicons. The convenience was one of the best features of L3.

As I mentioned on the other thread, tehre is simply no way in v4 to do what could be done with key-linking in v3 (more's the pity).

Personally, I don't miss the lack of displayed strong's numbers as I have never and will never use them (I only deal with the NA27). Seeing as the underlying Gk is available in all of the interlinears, there is no need to rely on strong's numbers. Open a regular KJV (if this is your preferred Bible) and right clicking on any word will give you access to the lemma (much better than a number) and the search will populate with your prioritised Lexicons (have you done this?).

What differs here is that you can only open one lexicon at a time.

in the mean time, couldn't you have your "5 favorite lexicons already open and linked" so when you DO right click a strongs number they all go to that word and you can look at them all?

Another way is to right-click,click a strongs number then after you've looked at your "1st favorite lexicon's defintion" then you can "right-arrow" through the "2nd favorite" and the "3rd favorite" etc....

I'd have to agree the customizability of L4 is NOT on par with L3, but I don't think it was ever the plan. I believe they have sought to simplify L4 by combining some L3 customizations into the new program as part of the UI. I do think L4 should be at least AS customizable as L3 (more so imo). I was sad to see much of it go.

Don't worry about any insult on my part, I fully understand your inquiries.

The main use (for me) of the CWSB, is having allot of useful information in one place, for quick reference. As in the example below, you can see all the information that is presented with the text, except for the Strong's numbers in L4. In L3 having the Strong's made it a very handy study reference.

I find Strong's numbers distracting, of no use to me, bemusing, curious ... I compare them to using numbers for each lemma in the OED and shake my head. All of which is to say, make them visible to those who use them but minimize their impact on the rest of us.

Paul Golder said that the numbers don't show up in L4 for him, but they did in L3. So there must be some program setting to turn them on/off in both version, but I can't for the life of me find it. I'm not saying I'm a fan of Strong's numbers, but I just like to understand all aspects of the software so I can help people.

I've resisted coming in on this thread earlier, but it seems to me that you can have exactly the same functionality in a KJV with reverse interlinear showing. WHy use the CWSB? The Strong's numbers are listed in a reverse interlinear, and clicking them will bring up the Strong's resource you prioritise. The result is much easier to read, and I would argue, better all around. It's usually much better to ask "How best can I accomplish this task in L4?", rather than "How do replicate an L3 function exactly in my new product?".

I do not even have Logos 3 or 4. Was considering purchasing until I came across this thread.

Stephen asked about the feature, and several commented. Paul Golder seems to be one of the few if not the only one that grasped the depth of Stephen's inquiry.

While Logos looks to be a great tool, like most of technology, it makes us slow, sluggish, and sometimes just plain dumb, when comparing ourselves to our forefathers who did not have such mind numbing tools.

I too would demand ability to see the numbers and even more so the grammatical codes in the text. Especially when using the CWSB. I think someone even suggested no use for that particular Bible...Really, now? It just so happens to one be of the best Bible works ever done. And whosever suggestion it was, I feel sorry for their flock. Quite simply, anyone astute enough to learn how to use the CWSB will be able to grasp so much information from having the gramatical codes and numbering visible when reading it that they will not need to click every time to see the depth of the meanings of the languages... the codes and numbering will become reconizable and cognative skills kick in to enhance the bible reading. like reading 2 languages at once on the same page and grasping all of the available depth of meaning at one pass. Of course this requires education and skill, two things missing in most of Christendom today.

They rely on the machine or someone else who relies on the machine to tell them what God meant, as opposed to reading it for themselves. I would assume the programmers likewise because they invest most of their time developing software to reading and studying their scripture that they will probably see no need to discuss this further as it will most likely cause them far more work to address it than to force those that use their software to comply with what they choose not to give them, in this new improved release...

Well it is their product and they have that prerogative and you don't have to purchase it either.

Perhaps I'll find a way to finance him and well create a product to improve the skills of the bible scholar as opposed to making them so dependent on a deluge of information that they'll have to rely on the machine for everything, for a lack of time to process it. Give them so much they would have to have a computer to process it for them...

No wonder Jesus said, Luk 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? I.E. not to have said will anyone believe in me, but rather will anyone understand the 'system of religious truth' i.e. not just the story, but the gospel scheme, the religious truth itself that He, Jesus authored and finished.

He knew no one would know anything for they would, among other things, drown in their dependence on technology.

I hope I have not been too rough, but come on guys, quit deliberating the right and wrong way to study a thing and give Stephen what he had before so that he can be quick with his own mind again... don't enslave him to your system, empower him to become skillful.

Fix it back like it was or add something to make the feature available in an update... If you are in fact doing God's work, and its not just for the money at this point, you owe it to Stephen, for the Lord's sake. And make it quick, we've got work to do and there is NOTHING on this earth more important than what we're out there doing for the service is to God's people. And I have no doubt He takes it very seriously when it comes to His children...
