logosindexer.exe ? logos 7 security issue?

my pcmactic software, just stopped my logos program and windows shut it down.
when i tried to restart logos 7, the most up to date version and i also have NOW, it would not start with pcmactic not allowing logosindexer.exe to go . . .
an update just came in this morning and another update came in while i was in the software and thats when pcmactic shut it down . .
What is up?
Do i need to worry about shutting my security software off in order to let my logos load, this is ridiculous

I searched 'logosindexer.exe" to see if there were any other posts on this, the only ones I saw were going back to 2013, 2012, etc . . . dealing with firewall issues in logos 4 and logos 5 . . .
so no answer yet . . .

HI Charlene,
I would look into adding Logos to the exceptions list of your security software. This article might help you, https://www.logos.com/support/logos6/windows/antivirus. If it doesn't you'll want to go to PCMatic's website/support team for how to do that.
You can find other support articles here https://www.logos.com/support/windows.

Thanks Tommy, have a ticket in with PCMatic, the thing is I run this software all the time, logos software, and this security software is always on my computers . . . they both run all the time, yet this is the first time the security software stopped the indexer . . .
I will post with the answer from the security software . . .
Disappointed that either logos or pcmatic messed up . . . this all takes away from my doctoral work . . . argh . .

Hello Charlene,
I was interested to see your post about logosindexer.exe because I had reported an issue I had with my security software when the indexer runs to index the library. In my case the alert was created by HitManPro.Alert.
I don't use PCMatic but I suspect it's identifying the activity of the indexer as being similar to malicious programmes that encrypt HDD's and then ask for a ransom payment. Of course, the indexer is working innocently to establish the data Logos uses to search the library, but your security programme doesn't know that. The only way to stop this false positive is to add an exception to PCMatic for logosindexer.exe (it may have a list of trusted programmes, sometimes called a whitelist, where you can add the indexer so that PCMatic will ignore it in the future.
Hope this helps
Andrew
