Traditional Latin Mass
Hi, I'm attending a traditional latin mass (made available by Pope Benedict XVI) and the lectionary used, at these masses, is the one used prior to Vatican II. Is there a way to set Verbum 7 for this calendar?
Thank you

No, there are a number of Catholic rites with separate calendars for which Verbum has no support. One of the Lutheran traditional one-year lectionaries would be close as the Lutheran-Anglican-Latin rite lectionaries were very similar.

Thank you MJ, any suggestion which I should look into?

Greg,
One option for you would be to purchase the 1962 Missale Romanum, which is part of the "Missals of the Roman Catholic Church" package: https://verbum.com/products/20189/missals-of-the-roman-catholic-church
It would not solve your question about the lectionary (I would like to see the same thing), but at least you could check the Missal to see what the feast of the day would be.
Best,
James

I'm actually in the same position as Greg in terms of adherence to the Extraordinary form of the Roman rite. I notice that in the "Missals of the Roman Catholic Church" package, the description of 1962 missal reads "this title includes the 1962 Lectionary." Has anyone experimented with the 1962 lectionary? I'd be interested in knowing how it interacts with the software if it's selected as one's main lectionary.

Hi, I have the missale romanum, the problem is that it's in latin.

The 1962 Missal includes the text of the lectionary readings with the Mass propers, but unfortunately, we haven't yet built a dynamic text resource that would allow it to be set as the lectionary on the homepage so that you can easily find the readings for the day as you can do with the modern lectionary. We hope to do so in a future release.

Great! I'll look forward to that. Would also be very appreciative if the 1962 missal/lectionary could be un-bundled and sold separately.

Hi Louis,
I wrote emails both to verbum and logos and was surprised to get no response. I should have checked this thread sooner. Is there a way to be informed of this "future" dynamic text resource. I'm sure that it will be a huge assist for people who love to follow the latin liturgy. Will there be an English translation along side the Latin as there is in the Edmund Campion missal?
See here for a reference to what it is: http://www.ccwatershed.org/Campion/
Thanks for any help

Sorry about that. What email address did you send it to specifically?

Something like this would likely be released as part of Verbum Now or the feature set of a future version.

It would work just like the current Catholic Daily Readings resource, which allows you to select any translation, English or Latin.

Hi Louis,
I wrote first to suggest@logos.com and then to cs@verbum.com. It's no big deal, I'm sure they're always flat-out busy. Besides, you've given me the good news about this anyway.
Be well

Any chance that Logos would be interested in some of the niche markets that might also be a inroad into the seminary markets? See http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/athompsonatdsptdotcom Fr. Augustine Thompson, O.P., S.T.M.

Good day,
Any status on this anticipated improvement (providing the 1962 Missal in English and incorporating the Tridentine Mass as a full Lectionary Option for Catholic Daily Readings)?

Is Louis no longer at Faithlife? His avatar is gone and clicking on his name just takes me to the main Faithlife page.

THat's a good question, Average Joe. I think you should create a separate thread in the General forum to see if anyone knows. I've noticed that there has not been an update in the blog for over a month now. I hope everything is OK.
