Changes for iPad using logos7
hi, I would like to know if there is any change on the logos app for iPad, when buying logos 7 or logos now?
will the iPad still be using the same features in a way that the only change will be some more books?
sorry, English is not my first language

Hi Josselyn - and welcome to the forums
In general, buying Logos 7 or Logos Now won't affect the iPad app apart from resources.
Any changes will require an update to the app
The only thing I can think of at the moment is that the recent change to the app to support continuous scrolling in Text Comparison is only available to Logos Now subscribers.

Hi Josselyn
As a rule of thumb the upgrade to Logos 7 should be considered in two stages...
1. Either Logos Now or the misnamed 'Full Features Set' which isn't quite as full as Logos Now. This, too all intents and purposes, is a software upgrade.
2. An upgrade to resources from, for example Bronze purchased as a Logos 6 set and Bronze purchased as a Logos 7 set. This is a resource update.
Without 1 you will be effectively on 6 even when the engine goes to 7. Without 2 you will be without 2.

Hi Mike
Not sure how some of these comments apply to the iPad app.
Trying to avoid confusing Josselyn - am I missing something?

Hi Graham and Mike,
thanks for your concerns and quick answers.
So, if I understand, it's not worth upgrading to logos 7 if I only use my iPad. I will have nothing more than what is given from logos 6. The app is the same for logos 6 and 7
Blessings

The app is the same for logos 6 and 7Yes, the mobile app is developed and released seperately to the desktop. So apart from extra resources there would be no change apart from TC which I'll cover below

Good morning Graham, thought I would ask you pretty much the same question, but more focused on Logos Now on iPad. Not sure if you work for Logos or not, but like Josselyn, I LOVE to read and study from my iPad Pro. I'm dying to know if and when the "Logos Now" can be accessed from iPad, specifically the search function that I'm dying without. I've heard that it is more like a Google search (with Logos Now), which I know I can benefit from. The search feature the way it is without the $99 upgrade is quite frustrating. It seems so bizarre to type in "kick against the goads" and it yields results that aren't anything I'm looking for, which happens to be Acts 26:14, to pass along for witnessing purposes. Whats the trick in the current search field to yield meaningful information?

First, welcome to the forums! [:)]

"Logos Now" isn't a product, but a service (membership program). Depending on what you own, there may be some features available to you which would not be available without the LN membership (or other purchase). I am unaware of any differences in searches.

It may be best to create a new thread and explain your issue clearly. Screen shots might help too.
Not sure if you work for Logos

Hey alabama24, thanks for welcoming me:-) I'm a Gold Logos 7 user, and from how it was explained to me is the "new" search features of being like a "google search" is only available in Logos Now for its members. I am aware that it is a "membership program" perk, but that would include a new feature/product that the membership would benefit from. Obviously a "search" feature that could be typed similar to the way that you would search on Google, would greatly increase the information pulled from a sentence in a search query.
So with that said, being that the membership of $99/yr would gain access to this new feature, I was inquiring if it can be accessed from the iPad, which appears not to be the case now..

You may be thinking of fuzzy search - which is a Logos Now feature - and is explained at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/132569.aspx
Using it for your search above gives the results you are hoping for
But so does a regular Bible search on the iPad - note enclosing the terms in quotes - as below. This is not dependent on a Logos Now subscription at all
So there may be some other issue or we are not understanding what you are asking
As Alabama said it would be good to start a new thread and explain clearly what issue you are having including screenshots.

And yes, it's called Fuzzy search, thank you. Available on iPad version if I'm a Logos Now member that you know of?
Thanks in advance,
Jacob0 -
But this is only available for Logos Now subscribers
Graham,
FYI
I do not subscribe to Now and have the scrolling text comparison since I have Logos 7.

Maybe quite apparent but quotations is something I need to incorporate IF I can quote exactly as it appears in my NKJV (my preference) text
Yes, that is correct
Besides quotations of exact scripture, is there any other tips on how to type in search field?
Sometimes it is useful to use fewer search terms - so the string 'kick goads' translates to "kick" AND "goads" which gives this - this mechanism only works when on line
Similarly the string 'night OR light' will find verses why either (or both) words are present.
There are some others but these are probably the most useful to start with

I haven't seen any indication that Fuzzy Search is coming to the mobile apps - but Faithlife don't typically share plans of that nature until the features are ready for beta testing. Personally, I would be surprised if it happened.

Yes - I was incorrect in my earlier statement. Thanks for picking it up

Graham, your awesome bud! Truly helpful, and much appreciated! Thank you, Jacob
You are very welcome.
Please feel free to post back with any further questions you may have - there is normally someone around to help.

Hi Jacob,
Just to clarify, Logos 7 and/or Logos Now will not add any new features to the Mobile apps (except for scrolling Text Comparison). The Mobile apps are distinctly different than the Desktop Logos 7 apps and only support a small subset of Desktop features.
The mobile apps are intended as companions to Logos Desktop and not a replacement or mobile version of Logos 7.

Thank you Kevin, makes sense, I have just been hopeful that the iPad version specifically would gain a few more features as the desktop, and more specifically Fuzzy Search. Would have paid for the Logos Now membership to have this only, if accessible to iPad Pro. Appreciate your your help.
