Visual copy

What has happened to Visual Copy? Until recently I could select a verse or two in Logos, right click, choose visual copy and it would open up a small selection of slides. One of those I chose frequently (almost like a default) and sent to Proclaim. With each subsequent selection and sending to Proclaim it used that same slide.

Now I an faced with hundreds of slides and the one I want doesn't show even after paging down several time. I eventually found it (Easter reference) and could use it. BUT the very next verse I tried put me back to square one - paging down, then having to use a filter to find it again. Why can we not have a chosen format act as a default unless we decide to choose something else. Even if appeared in the top left position as a default - or at least if the last used one appeared there until we changed it.

Or have I missed some way of doing what I want (and used to be able to do)?

Assuming you have upgraded to Logos 7 (is that the case?) then you will be using the updated Media Tool which does work slightly differently.

I don't see this.

I selected a couple of verses and clicked "Visual Copy" and just got one slide initially

Clicking the "four squares" icon - which is one of the ways to navigate options gives me a scrollable, relevant, list

Clicking the "X" takes me to the entire set of available media with options to filter on the left

And there is the option to control the order slides are presented including "Recently Used"

What are you seeing? And if you can provide screenshots that would be helpful

Thanks for the quick reply.

I just spend 20 minutes going through the entire process taking screenshots at every step of the way - and when I tried to send it the post failed to go thought!

I can confirm that I got basically what you did in your screenshots - but clicking recently used did not bring up the slide I had previously used and wanted to use again. Even if it did, it is many more mouse clicks than what I had been able to do before - where once I had started with a particular format it seemed to act as a default (at least for that editing session). This enable a rapid sending of several verses with the same format to Proclaim from Logos.

I will try some screen shots in a second post

David, we recently migrated ~1 year's worth of Pro Media to be accessible to Pro Media subscribers in Logos 7. I'm looping in the Visual Copy / Media Tool team to see if they can address the media defaulting issue you're seeing. Thanks for your patience.

From what I understand, your workflow should still be supported in the new Media Tool. When you have time, I'm curious to see the screen shots you took.

The key factors to pay attention to are:

Is "Sort by recently used" the selected sort mode
Has the media been sent to Proclaim (or otherwise exported) so that it has been marked as "recently used"
Does the media item appear in the results when browsing media (I would expect to see a "From selection..." filter when browsing)

It seems like the item you want to use isn't in the results based on your selection (but used to be in the old Visual Copy?). The specific selections being made and the intended piece of media might be contributing to the behavior you are experiencing.

When I want to do Visual Copy of some verses of Scripture, Visual does something and generates however many slides. Suppose I can reduce the text size and put two slides of material on just one. The font size it picks is way too big. Can I set the size in configuation somewhere?

Hello Louis,

If you select the box containing your text, the ability to resize the text should appear. You can then copy and paste other things into there before you save it/export it.

If you select in the text box on the left, an option to change font size should appear. You can then insert more text if you would like to fill up the slide.
