I have wondered about this as well. In the Logos library, volumes 1 & 2 are one volume, but volumes 3 & 4 show up as separate volumes.
Disclaimer: I hate using messaging, texting, and email for real communication. If anything that I type to you seems like anything other than humble and respectful, then I have not done a good job typing my thoughts.

Essentially it has to do with being able to charge for new resources.
Our preference is to combine resources whenever possible/appropriate.
This was an odd case where combining made sense on one level but since it wasn't finished we maybe should have kept them all as individual resources.

When I asked the Sales department this weekend, they've confirmed that there are no plans (at least announced) to combine these into a single set. Seems odd when you can buy both the two-volume and three-volume versions.
A related question is whether one can turn on/off the "volume" information. Vols 1+2 are treated like a single book, showing page numbers only. I've just picked up vol. 3 and it insists on telling me which volume I'm reading (as well as including the page numbers twice). [:S]

This seems to be a similar situation as with the five-volume Encyclopedia of Christianity which, in Logos, is actually three resources: volumes 1-3, volume 4, volume 5.

Both sets referred to came out over time and therefore were released individually. Those who had the incomplete set needed a way to add just the volumes they were missing. You know this. They can now be bought as a set or as originally released.
I don't see at this point what is to be gained by trying to make them into a single resource. They function as a single resource. Isn't that sufficient?

I don't know if it is relevant but I bought volume 4 when it was available on prepub whereas I bought the other three volumes yesterday. Might that affect anything in how this is displayed?

It's possible. This would surprise me but perhaps its a weird case where the metadata of the other three volumes needs to "catch up". The metadata for those three volumes was later updated via the server. It's possible that you haven't received the latest metadata. I'd have to check though, I'm a bit fuzzy on the timeline on some of those services.

I am planning to put this in my wish list once the whole set is in one package and metadata is consistent and streamlined. No particular hurry.

This is already the case, Veli. You can buy all the volumes in one package and the metadata is consistent. They work seamlessly since they are already set up in series with one another.
They will show as three resources in your Library, but why should that keep you from enjoying them now?

As far as I can see you can buy the first three volumes in one package but the fourth is only available separately.

You are right. Thanks for correcting me. I'm sorry if others went scrambling to find the complete set on the web site.
When I looked at the offerings I jumped to the conclusion that the three volume offering was what you and I see: three separate resources covering the entire book of Acts. FL is right about the volumes, the print version has 4 separate volumes. The Logos version has only 3 resources covering those 4 volumes, however.
So, the only way to buy the set now is to buy the 3 volume/2 resource package, and then add the fourth volume/1 resource.
I imagine Veli and others are hoping that a 4 volume package would end up being cheaper (as the 3 volume set is cheaper than buying the two volume set and adding the 3rd). $10-$20 saving would be nice since this is one expensive commentary.
So, if I didn't need it, I'd wait, too.

It looks like the price might have actually increased. It certainly has on individual volumes, anyway. I'll stick with 3 out of 4 volumes for now. I've made fewer and fewer purchases from Baker Academic in past years. In all fairness, however, Keener's "commentary" is massively exceptional and exceptionally massive.
