The videos are helpful, its must be my mind, why he did God use the suffering of Hosea and the trouble with his wife to show Israel were the gone wrong? When other times he used different messages. I know he used his son as a sacrifice. For or sins And redemtion I can see the love in  that. But can't see the love only Hosea love for gomer.

    Sorry little confused,

    Interesting question, Keith.

Coincidentally, I was studying King Hosea (hebrew version) ... the last king of Israel. Most english translations add an 'h' so people don't think Gomer became a queen.  I was also surprised (dummy me) that Hosea took Moses' place (and got renamed).

The parallels you're struggling with don't quite work if you assume YHWH as the only god ... then Gomer would have to imagine her lovers that weren't real (as Jeremiah ponted out).  If instead you proceed with multiple gods (however defined), then the parallel operates as a male's worst anger ... and so also YHWH's.  The gospels use the same male feature to illustrate the same forgiveness.

Thank you for that, yes  YHWH is only God. And Gomes lovers represented other Gods. The Jews did the same  worship other gods. Why did Hosea suffer, it reminds me of the prodigal son like gomer he came to senses and went back to his father. the onl difference was the rules that Hosea put on Gomer.

I am I right or total missed the point?

I know God love is very patient as Hosea's was maybe that is the bit I am not sure of, love is patient and kind.

    God's blessings
