Hope that you are aware that verses are not inspired.
“”The first person to divide New Testament chapters into verses was Italian Dominican biblical scholar Santi Pagnini (1470–1541), but his system was never widely adopted. His verse divisions in the New Testament were far longer than those known today. Robert Estienne created an alternate numbering in his 1551 edition of the Greek New Testament which was also used in his 1553 publication of the Bible in French. Estienne's system of division was widely adopted, and it is this system which is found in almost all modern Bibles. Estienne produced a 1555 Vulgate that is the first Bible to include the verse numbers integrated into the text. Before this work, they were printed in the margins.”” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapters_and_verses_of_the_Bible
Yes, that is from Wikipedia but I verified with some readings in my Logos library. Was searching for something that I read some time back – that his son reported that some of the verse markings were done while riding on horse back and some were slips of the pen when the horse stumbled. [[did not find that quote]]
He wanted to provide a concordance where he needed a way to reference small sections of the text so where the verse splits happened were not high on his priority list.
They can be handy, though.
Welcome [:D]
The New American Standard Bible, 1995 Update (NASB) has verse formatting (lacks paragraph option)
