Guys, this is so silly I am embarrassed to ask
I have been learning to use Logos 7 on my own and I have made my way through most of the wonderful "starter" training. I can't find a really simple thingie which I recall hearing about in one of the many videos I have watched. After an hour of looking I am swallowing my pride and just asking.
1) How do I make a book I am reading easy to find so i can read it at my leisure and then put it away.... with the book and my place in the book marked?
2) Also, for the life of me I don't remember what the little horizontal lines on the right hand side of open books are for?
I appreciate help with what I know to be easy and obvious answers for the pros out there.

Hi Rob, this is what I do. Possibly there is a better way? But this works for me.
Open your book and begin reading. When you want to stop reading place your mouse pointer over the word "Layouts" in the top right of the screen and Left click. A pop-up screen should open. In the top right of the pop-up screen it says Now in bold face type with the option as saving as a named layout. Click on that option and a new screen will open where you can call the book anything you want. Name it and click the small right arrow in the right portion of the name strip. It will store the book automatically. Now any time you open Layouts (up in the right hand corner of the screen) find the name you typed in the list and click on it. Th book will open to where you left off. When finished, click on Layouts again and click on "Update Active". Next time you select the book, it will open to where you left off.
Little lines might be from searches made in the book.

Bookmarks are quick-access temporary favorites that can be called up with a keystroke. You can have up to nine bookmarks at a time. To set them up:

Verbum shows “wear marks” in the scrollbar of resources to indicate the locations that you’ve visited most frequently in a resource. These appear as short horizontal gray lines on the right edge of the resource. Additionally, if you add a location to Favorites, a line will appear also in the resource scroll bar.
Set this setting to Yes to turn these lines on, or No to turn them off.

Logos 7 (and Verbum 7) automatically track last location in every resource.
Many ways to find a book after putting it away (closing tab)
- Tools => History (automatic list of resource location changes in chronological order)
- Library has "Last Access" field that can be sorted so most recent is on top
- Quick Start Layout customization: can add resource(s)
- Add a tag to resources for reading so can filter Library for mytag:reading
- Create a shortcut by dragging resource to command line
- Drag to Favorites (caveat: opens to location when Favorite entry was created)

"Wear" indicators show time at a resource location.

Drag to Favorites (caveat: opens to location when Favorite entry was created)
If you drag the recourse out of the library into a Favorites folder, opening it from the Favorites folder behaves the same as opening it from the library. It opens to the location you were last when you closed the recourse.
