PBB confusion in reinstall

Am forced to upgrade. I have searched for this info and cannot find it. In a new install or in putting Logos on a second computer, do I have to duplicate the original folder where the docx file was? I try the scan command as I find frequently instructed, but still my PBB's have the ! mark beside the file indicating not found. Still I can open the PBB in logos so I guess that is ok. The exclamation mark seems to be indicating something is wrong. But I guess if it opens I need not recreate that original folder.

Hi David:

You only need to deal with the exclamation mark if/when you need to re-compile the PB. If that never happens, no problem; the resource should function fine. It would be ideal to have the exact structure on the new computer, but not necessary.

BTW, searches on the forum here are clunky. It's better to Google and append "site:community.logos.com" to the search terms.

Just rebuilt my PC new HD and memory, with Windows 10 Pro - found it was easier to copy my "document" folder and reinstall it under the same user name in new HD. My install of Win 10 Pro- gave a user name of "whynd"- my old PC had "whyndell earl" with which I created an additional user in the new system. When Logos was reinstalled all my PB's just hooked up with no issue.

I did it this way so down the road things would not fall through the cracks and get forgotten. Also I have 2-300 PB's with 150 more ready to be compiled in L7, so organization is extremely important.

I suppose there is no need to keep these docx files on your laptop unless they are so large that you cannot upload them (if you are trying to conserve space on your SSD). In my case I could install all my master files from a detachable drive and only keep the very large master files on my laptop. I think I will move in that direction.
