Standard Quickstart Layout "Topic Study" Crashes 7.4.0.0024

When clicking the standard, non-customized, QuickStart Layout -> Topic Study the app crashes on macOS 10.12.3. If I put a custom layout in that slot and then activate it, it loads the layout fine. If I run a topic from the Go Box it loads fine (not sure if those are the same).
