Why does Logos keep a copy of every guide I've ever run in the past? Seems like a waste of resources. What am I missing?

Not every guide (in Windows!), else my Guides list for PG and Topics would be unmanageable. I'm still not sure why some 'untitled' guides are saved and some are not, only that if you provide a Title they will be saved.

Guides are saved every time you make a "significant" change. This includes setting a title, adding notes, adding/removing sections, changing section settings, etc. The idea is that if you are making specific changes to configuration, you may want to see that specific content again, but if you haven't made any changes, then it's simple enough to just regenerate the content.

    Andrew,

I've attached two screen captures which shows you what I'm talking about. the first one is a summary pic of all my guides by category. The second pic is a listing of the guides in the first category. Now to my knowledge I've only intentionally created 4 or 5 guides intentionally. It seems the application is arbitrarily creating guides. Why?

if you open the textual critizism sec of the E.G. It saves the guide.

I hear what you're saying but it just seems like a waste of resources to save ALL of them. Seems like any little not significant change generates a guide. If you look at the guide summary pic there's 140 separate exegetical guides and 101 passage guides. Not sure how much space a guide requires but nothing is limitless. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Does everyone else have that many guides?

Based on Andrew's comment it would depend on one's usage of specific guide sections, changes to section settings, etc. Your custom PG and EG's seems not be used as much as the default PG, EG  e.g. My Passage Guide would be used in preference to default PG from Home Page, so it appears you are choosing the default PG from the Context menu?

Anyway, you can delete the excess guides by right clicking them in the Guides menu.
