Mobil Apps and Desktop - Out of Sync Reading Plans

Hi,

When I look at my reading plans on my desktop, it shows, for example, "Today Job 29-42, Ps 1-4"

When I go to my Mobil App - iPhone and iPad - my home screen shows the same readings "Job 29:1-42:17, Psalm 1-4:9", but it shows me as being a day behind.  I have re-loaded the App and re-booted my phone.  Has anyone else seen this before?

Thanks,

Mike

I have seen this sort of thing on occasion and it seemed to be related to timezone issues - where are you located?

Graham, East Coast.  But it's been working fine.  I ended up uninstalling the Apps from my phone and iPad and re-installing and that worked.

    Thanks!

Hey Mike! Thanks for the report and I'm super happy you were able to resolve it. I wanted to note that syncing on mobile devices can be iffy at times as in order for the device to sync correctly, the Verbum app needs to be open for some time, without the screen going to sleep and remaining active before the sync can finish. If ever there's an occurrence with this, simply open the Verbum app, let the app remain as the active program and don't let the device fall asleep, and roughly 20* minutes or so later, everything should be synced.

*: 20 minutes is a rough guess based on the number of synchronization items on your account. This number can easily be higher or lower based on what is trying to sync.

Thanks Brandyn - I'll pay attention to that in the future.  Is there something in the works to allow you to manually sync the Apps?

Working on synchronization on mobile is something we're constantly trying to improve, and the ability to manually sync is one of the ideas that has been put forward. As for a time frame, I wouldn't be able to answer that, but rest assured it is something we're conscious of and trying to improve.

EDIT: It looks like I mispoke! You can manually force a sync on iOS by opening the app and then hitting the home buttom on your iOS device, while this puts the app in the background, it forces a sync.
