A Verbum Introduction and Update
With the sad news of Louis St. Hilaire's departure, understandably the Verbum/Catholic community has probably felt like a dear friend is missing. I personally was disheartened by the news at first, but I was overjoyed that he was choosing to move forward to what he felt God was calling him to do. I'm sure we can all relay a story of how powerfully God works in our lives when we finally make those big decisions that He has been nudging us to make. It is moments like this that we open a new avenue for God to work in our lives. Let's pray for Lou that he continues to walk in that inspiration as he embarks on this new stage of his life.
Having said that, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Thomas Gette (pronounced "Jet"). I am not a direct replacement for Lou, as I will be managing and coordinating the Verbum marketing efforts, and Lou left some big shoes to fill, so finding someone to take his place more directly is still in progress.
I am relatively new here, so please be patient with me, but I want to commit to being your Faithlife connection here on the Verbum/Catholic section of the forums. I will do my best to address all your needs, and as I adjust more to all things Faithlife, I have the confidence I'll be able to help more and more as time unfolds. Please pray for me. I hope Lent has started out fruitfully for all of you.

Welcome Thomas! Lent has indeed been providing opportunities to grow in trust, patience, FAITH, and all that good character building stuff. (It's almost like the bad guys pay extra attention to souls striving and yearning for God.) I'll pray for you, Lou, and for us all.

Thank you, Thomas. [:)]

Thanks, everyone, for your responses. I look forward to helping make Verbum an indispensable tool for helping Catholics grow in Biblical literacy. The Church needs it, we need it.
Blessed Lent!

Welcome ... and, yes, most of the Verbum community will be glad to be supportive. Just ask.

Hapax Legomena, allow me to say how much I love your name. I'm writing a paper on 2 Peter right now, which has the highest percentage of Hapax Legomena in the entire NT.

Thanks. It's a tribute to my college professor of Greek. His dog was named Hapax Legomena. I always thought that was an inspired choice.
