I tried to search my library for the topic Original Sin. I followed the format, yet get no results. However I can open a Bible dictionary and find the topic. What's wrong with this picture???
I am not at a my computer at the moment to test anything out but my initial thoughts are this has not been tagged as a topic in this resource. Not all tagging is applied 'equally' across all resources unfortunately. Have you tried running a search on both heading and large text fields to see what results you get Jim ?

The <Topic xxx> search is wrong because Logos is wrong in suggesting that format! At best it will only find media/images in some (media) resources. You need to use Topic Guide or Factbook to get a list of bible dictionaries for that topic.

Everything search includes Factbook link:
Factbook sections have more results than Library search for topic.

A topic search can bring back results if you turn on the "Match equivalent references" option in the panel menu. This is because some topics are equivalent to references (such as Preaching Themes) which are directly marked up in the text (and are therefore searchable).
<Topic Original Sin> does not bring back results because there is no equivalent reference for that topic. The closest thing that does find matches would be <Topic Sin>.

It can produce results, but it doesn't answer the OP's question! The suggestion <Topic Original Sin> is wrong for the reason that it doesn't relate to LCV topics, and this relates to my bug report about Suggestions e.g. Original Sin in an Everything search gets relevant results in the Topic section.

This was turned on in the original search. While I could check that after you mentioned it, I don't understand it and don't really understand anything you said. It's not a complaint at all, it's just fact. It does bring up something I'd like to point out. I've been using Logos almost since it came out and in the last 5 or so years have been finding it more and more difficult to use. A paradox I know. Because you've obviously tried to add guides and features to make things easier, but in my actual use these same things have generated limited improvement and have actually obfuscated information I used to be able to mine very easily. However I do want to thank you for responding to my post and trying to help me.

Dave, thank you so much for your quick answer and in helping me find what I'm after. [:)]
I tried to search my library for the topic Original Sin.
Simple article search is Heading and Large text of All Resources for original NEAR sin:
original NEAR sin
Can expand article search by looking for Original (in Heading OR Large text) followed by Sin (in Heading, Large, OR surface text):
([field heading, largetext, surface] sin) AFTER 88 WORDS ([field heading, largetext] original)
([field heading, largetext] original) BEFORE 88 WORDS ([field heading, largetext, surface] sin)
Following up on Dave's comments led me to try the Topic Guide, Factbook, and a search of "Everything" for the text "original sin."
The Topic Guide linked to some audio and graphic files that might be useful, but not very limited links to information from my library that I could use to study the topic. The Factbook produce no useful results. The "Everything" search produced a lot of hits worth following up.
So in this particular case, the Guides were not helpful and the suggestion offered by Logos in the Basic search to use <Topic xxx> was useless.
Perhaps there's an opportunity for improvement here.
Your first search only turned up one book in my library as having Heading text. However your second search was very effective. Thanks very much.
Jim
The Factbook produce no useful results.
If you have the appropriate features you should see
What base library do you have? What is your bible dictionary?
EDIT: If it didn't pickup your Lexham Bible Dictionary then you need the free Logos 7 Basic.
