How do I know what content to put into notes, clippings and study?

I am fairly new to Logos Software.
I am learning how to create files for Study, Clippings and notes.
My problem is, how do I know what content to put into each file?
Also, when I create a layout and name it Bible Study, does this template cover all my Bible studies?
Sorry if this seems simple questions, but, I'm just starting to learn this package,
thanks so much,
colin

Hello Colin,
Welcome to Logos Bible Software and our forums! In regards to your notes, clippings and study note questions I would highly suggest checking out this article to answer your questions: https://www.logos.com/training/logos5/notes
In regards to your 2nd question, when you create a layout and name it something like Bible Study it should cover your bible studies but you want to make sure you set it to a relevant default layout. To learn more about this in detail please check out our article: https://www.logos.com/training/logos5/layouts

Although created for Logos 4, Table_of_Contents contains tutorials on Documents where you can find Clippings and Notes

Hi Colin
1. Your Layout is like your Table. You put open Bible, Commentaries and a Notefile on it. It's for your Bible Study BUT it covers just the Setting of the First time (unless you update it every Time) If you take one Study at the Time it's fine, but if you study several Isufs, than create a Layout for every Study and put in in the Shortcut Bar.
2. Clipping is more for several Citations you read in your Study. So you get the whole Text. If you mark a Text and put it into a Note File you find, that you don't get the whole Text into it. You have to copy/paste the Text you want separate.
