Connection error/lost when using Ipad remote to control Proclaim

On Sunday, at our second worship service, I was using my Ipad (version 10.2.1) to remotely control the Proclaim presentation. During my sermon I saw on the Ipad an error message saying that the connection was lost. I tried to reconnect several times. Each time, the same error message appeared. After about 4-5 attempts, I asked our sound guy to advance the slides.

What would cause this error?

At the first worship service, I used the same Ipad to remotely control Proclaim with no issues at all.

Why did it work for the first service, but not the second?

This might happen if the network connection between the remote app and the service is lost. The best way to prevent this from happening is to setup local WiFi on the remote App section in the Settings menu, and to make sure that in the Remote app that both "Local WiFi" is enabled and the IP address in Proclaim is set in the Remote app. This article will help you with setting this up. http://support.proclaimonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/209613913-Proclaim-Local-Wi-Fi-Remote

I just checked, both the desktop computer that broadcasts Proclaim on-air, and the Ipad I use for remote control are "enabled" for local wifi.

Does the remote app have the IP address entered that is displayed in the Proclaim app's Wifi Setting? This is important for it to be actually working locally.

The app on the Ipad did not have the ip address of the presentation computer listed. I just entered it on the Ipad. How much of a difference will this make in the maintaining the connection between the Ipad and the projection computer?

It will make all the difference in the world. [:D] Without the IP address in the remote app the remote and desktop applications are not connecting over local WiFi.
