Hello Logos!
I'm sure others would agree—we need a paragraph version of the NASB 1995. Every other digital edition of the NASB is paragraph form. It would make this resource so much more readable!
Hi Gavin! [:)]
This is a somewhat frequent request. Unfortunately I don't think it is likely to happen. The base text of the NASB is in a verse by verse format, per the translators decision. There is a special copyrighted version available in paragraph formatting, but it would be considered a different resource. <If> it were to come, it would require a secondary purchase plus it would not have a reverse interlinear associated with it. Would you still be interested? I think it would be a tough sell for many users. It would be nice though! [Y]
Hey Alabama!
I hear ya. Honestly, I would purchase it as a secondary resource. It seems like instead of losing the interlinear information, Logos could just reformat the text and use the same interlinear.
Hopefully the 2017-2018 NASB update will be in paragraph format. Seems weird that the '77 NASB is in paragraph but the 1995 isn't.

I understand your thinking, but the translators / publishers / copyright holders didn't want it that way. The paragraph formated version is a different resource (and I believe publisher), so it isn't as clear as it might seem. [:s]
If the newer revisions of the NASB are not in paragraph form, then why are they sold that way in physical form?
Gavin:
Thanks for your initiative and persistence.

You may be right but I own strong tied NASB in both Accordance and Olivetree formats that have always allowed for paragraph or verse by verse viewing. I have owned original language tied NASB in both for over 15 years. Like I said you may be right but paragraph view is not a new item in the digital world. Indeed OnlineBible I have owned the NAS95 with strongs numbering since 1996 and it has markings to indicate paragraphing (and if you copy it for pasting it is in paragraph form, so if FL has a contract for verse only it is a very odd contract.

You may be right...
Probably not. If you read through this thread, you will see that out-of-the-blue, FL made the change. I don't know what made them make the change now, but it has already been done! (With a few complaints already registered).
@alabama24: Do you allow messaging on Faithlife? I can't seem to message you.
I received the latest update of NASB95 today and it is in the paragraph format. I happen to prefer the verse form, but it will not go back to it. When I click on verse option it stays paragraph. It would be nice to have both formats work. Thank you.

It may be helpful for you to create a new thread in the platform specific forum. L7 (windows/Mac)? You should post a screenshot of your visual filter menu.
You can get back to a semblance of the original if you're prepared to spend enough time experimenting and to jump through enough hoops. Under the visual filters, click 'Bible Text Only', and under that, click on 'Bible text formatting', 'Chapter/Verse numbers', 'Non-Bible text' and 'One verse per line'. That will get a lot of it back. Of course you won't get the chapter titles, there are no paragraph markers, and if you've highlighted any verse numbers you'll find they're all messed up too. Oh yeah, and you'll probably have to do the NT and the OT separately.

No - as it is a single resource the visual filter settings apply throughout it
My brothers and sisters. I am assuming that is true- that you all are in Christ. I am going to be painfully honest here with you all. Reading most of your comments has left me the impression of the children of Israel wandering in the wilderness complaining about the manna, or the quail. Honestly some of you sound like spoiled brats! I understand being frustrated with an unpopular change in your product- but going so far to say (or type) the things you all have said is akin to "I'm taking my marbles and going home" type of mentality. I am sorry to say, it is silly. Are you grown? I, as a brother, am calling you to check your attitude here and examine whether it is Christ like. If you find, as I hope you will, that it is in error, I pray your repentance on this. FL has said they are working on the visual filter so you can have it either way- paragraph or verse by verse. Give them a chance to do that and stop whining already, I hear it from my kids enough already.
I have said my peace.
