Logos 7 - Turning on accessibility
Hello,
I'm trying out Logos 7 before buying it--I've been an Online Bible user for over ten years and am considering switching. So I'm trying out the accessibility with both Jaws and my iPhone--and if this is successful, with the web app as well--before considering my investing in these products.
For the time being I haven't been successful. I did try and ALT+D and typing set Accessibility to Yes as explained in the 2014 Wiki, but nothing happened.
Nota: My Logos install is in French as my Windows is, too.
Then I downloaded the Logos Bible for iOS (I have the latest iOS) and no luck there either.
Should I uninstall it and try with Logos 6 instead?
[last] Note: Here in the office I'm using Windows 8.1 but at home I have Windows 7, both with Jaws 18. iOS is 10.3.

When you typed in the "Set ... " command did you get something like below:

That may be a factor but I don't aware - we would need a French user or someone from Logos to comment

The accessibility commands only work for the desktop application not the mobile ones - they are different applications with access to the same (or most of the same) resources
Should I uninstall it and try with Logos 6 instead?
Please don't do that - Logos 6 will soon be unsupported and Logos 7 will have all of its functionality and more

The first time you turn on accessibility, you may need a Logos rep to assist--I did. They really, really need to fix this. Try restarting Logos to see whether the set accessibility to yes saved and changed after restart. If it is not better in yourdesktop/laptop app, then try contacting Logos support by phone for assistance and let them know you are a potential customer evaluating accessibility. They are very kind and helpful. The IPhone app does not use the set accessibility to yes eature.

Hi, Graham. Screen readers often read things in different formats from what you see on the screen--we don't get the sense of what is left, right, top and bottom. This is the reason why we need much better accessibility with Logos. It is very difficult to troubleshoot situations such as this, and Logos loses money when a potential customer finds it difficult to use.

Hi, Graham. If I can help further with regard to Logos and screen readers, please let me know. I am a JAWS user and have been a Logos user since 2007. Currently I am using Logos 7 core engine with my library. Many of the Logos 7 additional features do not work with screen readers. Logos has several customers who are using various screen readers and we would like very much to be able to access some f these features, e.g. the linking features, to be able to view things in a comparative way, etc. We obviously cannot do it side by side, but with screen readers there is generally a way to toggle between child windows of the screen if the program is compatible.
