I suggest contacting Customer Service (https://www.logos.com/contact).  They can confirm if the code you are trying to use on www.logos.com/redeem was previously used by another customer.

The worst happened - my computer completely crashed with Libronix on it.

I have loaded Logos 7 but all the versions of the bible I enjoyed and had paid for are not accessible.  How can I get them back?

    Hi Marty,

welcome to the Logos user forums!

Sorry to hear about your issues. Libronix to L7 is quite a jump! Assuming your Libronix installation had synchronized with the Faithlife servers back when those were running, the license server for Logos 7 knows about your bibles and other books, thus Logos 7 will automatically download all your library resources - this presupposed that you used the exact same email-address for Logos 7 that was on file for Libronix. If this is not the case, Customer Service will need to reassign your Libronix account licenses to the Logos 7 account.

In case your Libronix was not synced to the servers, but recently installed from CD-ROM, you'll need to connect the resource licenses to your account by inputting the product key into https://www.logos.com/redeem

    Hope this helps a bit,

    Mick

Unless you have your licence backed up, you won't be able to install it, even if you have the files. It won't be able to connect to the server.

Is there any reason why you're not willing/able to update to Logos? It's free, and assuming you've synchronised your licences in the past, you shouldn't lose any resources: https://www.logos.com/product/168880/logos-8-basic

"Crashed" how? Like BSoD "crashed"? Or the disk doesn't spin "crashed"? If it's just some form of registry error or similar, you may be able to reinstall your old school version of Windows (XP, Vista, 7, or whatever you had) on the same disk and then you can find the L3 files in the old defunct folder and port them to your fresh Win install. Worked for me a few years back.

Thankfully, I just bought a brand new SSD and mirrored my old SATA HD onto it. Now I have a back-up. At some point I will probably buy another SSD and make a second mirror of it. I'm so glad I've got that back-up. Loads of simmering dread has washed away.

So is there anyone anywhere that can verify purchases of Libronix programs in the past, specifically Ages Software?

If you synced your Libronix licences with the servers, then Faithlife will have a record of all your Libronix resources.

Note that we disabled the webservices (per this thread) that allowed you to sync your Libronix licenses via the license sync functionality in Libronix Digital Library System (LDLS) 3.  That said, if you still have your old install available of LLS2 or LDLS 3 and never synced your licenses to Faithlife servers you can still contact Customer Service, send them your licenses file, and they can import your licenses to your account on your behalf.  Also, if you did sync your licenses (via either method) then customer service can verify any purchase that has been imported onto our servers.

Just to be clear...you are only talking about one-way import, right? Going from L3 to L>3, right?

I have tons of resources that I purchased and which had L3 compatibility, but I was prevented from downloading the L3 files from the ftp site before it was permanently shuttered. I sure would love to get those files activated on my L3 system.

    Correct.

I'm not sure why you were prevented, since the order summary page still had links to download the files years after Logos 4 shipped: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/33278.aspx

However, I can't think of any way to download the files now, after the FTP server was shut down (unless someone else on the Internet mirrored the files).

I do have the Libby media DVD, version 4.0g if I'm not mistaken, but don't know whether it contains a full mirror of the ftp server.

Water under the bridge...I didn't DL the files right after purchasing the resources, but later when I tried, there was something that kept the process from completing. Tbh, I don't remember the details. Others have mentioned the inability to sync and access the ftp server well before the server was officially shuttered.

    David,

I have most of the L3 book files, if you can tell what you need I will try and send it to you.

I appreciate that...however, is there any way to get the files to be recognized as unlocked? I downloaded most of the files for Anchor Bible (which I can access in L7), but I couldn't get them recognized as unlocked by the L3 server when it stopped functioning.

Sorry in advance if you all have already answered this somewhere. I just haven't found it yet and this thread is the closest I've come.

Years ago I purchased the Logos Scholars Library and other books including Word Biblical Commentary, The Essential IVP Reference Collection, and The Anchor Bible Dictionary. I still have all the install media (~10 CDs) and was able to install Libronix 2.1b, but obviously I can no longer activate it or update it. I don't have the license backup file because I had this stuff installed over 10 years ago when I was still preaching full-time. I've moved since and don't know where that license file is and don't have a floppy drive anyway. I found I already had an online account, but it showed no order history.

Is there any way I can activate this software, even if I'm just running the old version in an isolated compatibility mode (Windows)? Or can I import my library into the new Logos 8? I'm at a loss here. I would very much like to use this very expensive library, and would love a way to modernize it and start purchasing new additions.

    Kevin,

Call Customer Services (800-875-6467) and they should be able to locate your old account. Perhaps it uses an old email address? Then they can merge your old account with your new one and your old resources will automatically download into Logos 8.

Thanks--I emailed customer services with this same question, and the rep confirmed that I just needed to install Logos 8 basic and all my resources were already associated with my account, so they would just appear. I'm happy to report that I can see them all and use them.

  • thanks for help

If you have it already installed, even if it wasn't synced with the Logos servers before they went offline, you can export your license file and send it to Logos.  They can unlock it to your account, and you can access the resources through a newer version of the software.

If you do not have it installed with your license on your current computer, then I don't know that they are going to be able to help you, as the discs used to install the software does not constitute an actual license to own that resource.

LDS 2000!  The last Logos 3 version of LDLS was c. 1992. If you did not make a backup of your licenses (which supplies the above codes) you cannot successfully install LDLS. And then there is no guarantee as to the what will function with your OS.

If you have the installation disks and resource disks then contact Customer Support to see if the licenses can be transferred to Logos 10.

LDS 2000? I don't think there was such a thing in the Logos ecosystem. Maybe it was a Mormon (Latter Day Saints) software package?

Or maybe it's one of these? [:D]
