Atlas Maps
- I second Veli Voiopio's suggestion: "User-friendly vector map system, with links directly from the text."
- I second James McAdams suggestion: "A much more open Atlas - choosing our own layers, ability to save view, add labels/arrows/symbols etc - with image export options, of course."
- I second Mattillo's suggestion: "I would like the Atlas tool to be updated and have all of the components shipped. This is still lagging from L6."
Library Drop-down Window
Either let the user size the window and have Logos remember it -OR- add a preference setting for the drop-down size to be maximized.
Window Size and Scrolling of Scripture Passages When Hovering over LInks in Resources
When a scripture passage pop-up window is displayed as a result of the user hovering the cursor over a passage link in a resource, either make the window size large enough to display the entire passage -OR- make the window scrollable. There are many, many, many times that there is plenty of room on the screen to make the pop-up window large enough to display the entire passage, but the pop-up window size displayed is too small to do that, requiring the user to then click on the passage link which transfers control to a Bible resource (often in a different pane), then requiring the user to transfer control back to the main resource in order to resume reading/studying that resource. Such an unnecessary waste of time.
Notes
Provide the ability to easily select multiple notes to be moved from one note file to another.
Hiding/Un-Hiding Resources
Provide the ability to select multiple resources to be hidden AND unhidden.

I wasn't totally sold on the books in the various packages this time around.
I want to see integration of the theology and denomination tags project.
Some of the more complicated searches are great, but I'd like to see them be a little more accessible (without muting their power).
maybe a syntax search wizard? but allow those whove learned the ropes now to continue to be able to search manually. let the wizard populate the search box so we can see how the wizard constructed the search for us.
I've mentioned this before, but I think it would fit with other peoples requests RE battery life.
I'd like to see the ability to switch logos into one of several modes: performance mode (for people with beefy desktops) or normal mode (as it performs now) or a battery saver mode that uses less system resources, maybe automatically delays indexing - whatever you would need to do to lower the battery drain or increase the demand on the system.
Was there ever an easy to way to make a resource (pb builder? sermon builder idk) that had embedded in it audio/video sermons linked from the internet, or the local machine.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

- Pdf, Epub, Mobi reader
I would like to endorse this one. It would be enormously helpful if Logos 8 could read and do a very basic dumb search on the various pdf, epub and Word files we all inevitably collect. I'm not talking about linking, tagging or indexing - just a basic ability to read and search for a text string. Just being able to do a single search that shows hits in these other files and allows me to open and read them would bring me a lot closer to having "one stop shopping" in Logos for my research.

Late to the party and totally random...
I'd like to see a minor UI refresh, along the top to freshen it up a bit. I'd still love to see the Tool menu divided as it's getting large. And of course the Toolbar: Multiple bars that can be turned on and off (depending on device), changing the spacing, custom icons, dividers, etc. I should have it look the way I want it to look on my PC, my Tablet, or on the Web App.
More user settings for display. Color schemes for tool windows vs resource windows.
I wouldn't mind a refresh on Logos.com PDPs. I'm a bit jealous of all the whitespace on Verbum.com.
Fix reading plans, esp TOC breaks, and At Your Own Pace. Phil's comments here and here.
Dynamic linking in resources. When resources are created, store metadata that can be used to link to reference works. Some of those links can be resolved when compiling the book, other can be resolved on the users system as the resource is drawn, if the linked resource has become available and is installed. You're already doing some of the work already, I believe. This way Faithlife only has to touch the resource once for links, no need to do periodic updates. This was discussed a few years ago but I can't find the link.
Better handling of images/media in resources. Better quality images when available. Zooming, Copying, Printing.
Maps/Atlas. See Accordance! Layers. Multiple Layers. Detailed control over what is shown/hidden. Place names I can click on for more information. This has been talked about all over the place. See Accordance for how to do this. There's may not be as pretty and the UI lousy, but they have the features right and that is the most important part.
Mobile Offline. Seriously! Simple word studies, Passage guides or a parallel resources option so I can switch through commentaries on a given reference, or dictionaries for a given headword, etc. Simple Text Comparison. Simple search within resource, eg Show me all verses that contain the word xxx. Maybe topical lookup. These are features I use or would use all the time (mostly done in Accordance app at the moment!)
Keep working on Faithlife Assistant. More inline responses because often want just a quick answer and because inline responses will make it more portable to bring to the Web App & Mobile. Would love to hear a better (and distinctive) speech engine.
Library browser. Faceted browser. Include collections for convenience and for organization. Let resources that contain multiple titles have those titles listed in the library and be filterable by those titles--It's a pain to find books that are contained in huge collections. At least on the web app it might be interesting to flip a switch and browse the entire Faithlife catalog or at least it might make both product browsers a little better.
Allow searches to search the entire Faithlife catalog. Sell me some book!
Touch UI. There was a time when I thought this would have been a game changer. If done excessively well, I thought it would cause people to throw away there iPads and Android tablets and rob every Surface Pro for the store shelves. I don't know if that momentum is there any more and doubt to see Faithlife take Touch to the level needed, but there are enough of us I think to warrant some improvements in this area. Maybe a time to do a general review of your UI Controls/Widgets and improve the experience for touch users and improve accessibility as there are problems with screen readers & onscreen keyboard. I was going to say something about making controls more consistent across the application but it looks like this has improved a great deal now that I take a look. There are still inconsistencies like the filter boxes sometimes having a round progress bar, sometimes a dotted line progress bar, and sometimes just fading out and back. Maybe lumping all these together will make it a more profitable review.
Search. I think it would be cool if there were a little white board and a toolbar of function and operator widgets. Grab a function like Sense, and drop it on the white board. The white board organizes what's dropped on it. NO Freehand. Dropping the widgets on the whiteboard gives the user an object with a series of properties that can be edited. For sense, there is a list of all senses that can be filtered to find the appropriate one. Some widgets might have special functions that make it easier to make modifications to that term/widget. For sense there might be an up arrow button that selects the parent sense of the currently selected sense and an ellipsis button that brings up a list of child senses for review or selection. Every widget can show a preview of the results of that search term in isolation.
Next, we can click on an operator and combine search terms together into an expression. Again the operator widget will allow a preview to be seen of the two terms combined by the operator. Make it easy to change operators so users are encouraged to experiment with operators to see the difference in the results.
To control complexity, allow selecting of an expression so that all terms/subterms are grouped together, hidden in a black box, and given a name. That will simplify the expression for viewing, and possibly allow a means of sharing these black box search snippets(???).
Searching is still complex. But this aides with syntax, organization, and allow partial evaluations to see where the search is working and where it isn't.

I love Logos Now and the updates it brings, but please have a few surprises for L8.

Desktop Dreams:
- Contextual pop-up customization of Right and Left Hand sides: similar to Guides that allows section order to be rearranged as desired so dreaming of "My Contextual Right" and "My Contextual Left" guides with templates that could be edited. Guide metaphor has sections that appear when appropriate. Currently contextual pop-up has applicable sections shown in alphabetical order all the time.
- My Visual Filter guide so could rearrange order of Menu Sections. Also would appreciate option for default check OR not for each section: e.g. typically not use Passage List so prefer unchecked and collapsed.
- Search builder that highlights unrecognized term(s): e.g. missing parenthesis. Ideally with option to enable OR disable automatic completion.
- Search term browser with range of valid values. Many resources have their own data type, which can be challenging to build search for various section(s). Another example is labels and sections having many values. At times would like a Concordance capability for search values that shows how many for a particular value, ideally with option to enable OR disable count as desired.
- Library priorization assistant so can enter a data value that shows resources with that value in priority order.
- Library option to resize column for prioritisation so can read more of the title/series.
- Library prioritization option to collapse/expand advanced priorities as desired. Currently advanced always shows many lines.
- Resource information to show Subject Metadata plus some attributes (e.g. Interlinear) that are currently not shown => [request] Bradley: Please expose the 'traits' column in collections
- User note field for Resources that is visible in Information, which could have comments about title modifications, plagiarism warnings, ...
- Some Color Theme customization => Low light or night modes? => User Voice Suggestion ? Add Themes to personalize colors/colours ?
- Morph Query that can be used offline.
- Quick way to turn off Visual Filters when opening a Bible resource (possibly open resource with key to disable visual filters). If Visual Filters is checked, then application automatically searches and applies them so trying to show Visual Filter menu can wait on searches being done.
FYI: a quick way to improve performance is avoiding unneeded effort. For example, at times want to see everything that Contextual menu can show. At other times only desire useful subset. For example, personally not use Literary Typing, Genre tagging, Send to Proclaim, Share, .. so would appreciate Guide like option to not show them (or place more useful sections above them). Guides have performance option of section being closed, which would be helpful for contextual sections too.
Desktop Annoyances:
- Contextual annoyance is choosing reference on right side, which requires scroll down on left side to Top 5 resource list => https://community.logos.com/forums/p/124701/813981.aspx#813981
- Editing resource titles in Library, which has automatic refresh back to the top of the list plus deselects resource (so a title edit in progress means finding resource again in Library so can select it to complete title editing).
- Search copy automatically running previous search (especially when want to modify search) => https://community.logos.com/forums/p/134284/894509.aspx#894509
- Search assistant option to use OR not as desired (annoying when power user typing search parameters has to wait for automatic assistant) => BUG: *Seriously annoying* search-box behavior =>
- Search assistant that creates inappropriate command line parameters => Lack of Intuitiveness in Logos
- Search icon does not show some search settings: e.g. Match Case, Match All Word Forms, Match Equivalent References (visual indicator similar to link set would be greatly appreciated) => Case sensitive search results => I'd like to see the status of "Match case" and "Match all word forms" displayed on the search screen… => TIP of the day: Why is Search so ______________ difficult? => Tip of the day: basic search options (Search panel icon menu) and drop-down options => TIP of the day: a 10,000 foot view of Search
- Prioritize user interface threads before other searching/indexing threads
FYI: am liking year prefix with author for Bible Commentaries, Bible Notes, Encyclopaedias, Lexicons, and Monographs (with Bible Index) => https://community.logos.com/forums/p/139386/890581.aspx#890581 Found a commentary series that had over 100 years between first and last volume.
Mobile:
- Dreaming of visual filters on mobile devices, especially as Apple's A11 Bionic is a bit faster than Mac Book Pro Intel CPU's => https://www.tomsguide.com/us/iphone-8-benchmarks-fastest-phone,review-4676.html

When new resources are downloaded onto the desktop machine, the mobile device tickboxes should be available at the same time (assuming that they compatible). Currently, for some reason, it is not possible to put a new resource onto a device from the desktop. My workflow is to preview and tag new resources as they come in ... and to decide if I would like them to be accessible via mobile.
Thanks.

the thing that I find frustrates me the most about Logos is not the features, but the speed. I use Logos constantly, and I love the cast array of features that are available to me. I love the way in which the text is tagged in so many different ways and I have learned many things by following links on the Right Click menu. Yet the thing that frustrates me is always speed. Changing between layouts and waiting for search results to appear can take a long time. I have many books and I know that contributes to the speed issue, but surely there are ways in which Logos can be optimized to enhance is speed. Another bugbear is loading and closing. If my files have been at closing, why does it take so long to open them.
Other programs I own also use cloud solutions, but find ways to speed things up, surely Logos can do the same.
Many thanks,
James

What are the most important things we should address to make Logos a better tool for you?
I'm tired of pitching it and fighting for my view, but my first priority has always been a divorce of "layout" from "project." As a user is working across devices and platforms, he/she may have good reasons to use a different pattern (layout) on each device. An iPhone ≠ iPad ≠ MacBook ≠ iMac. Open resources and the corresponding resource locations are associated with various PROJECTS. The "layout" (pattern of tiles) is unrelated. Users should be able to open & save projects in a variety of layouts across devices & platforms. The user should also be able to save the project in a given layout on each device. This applies to all devices, including mobile.

Agree, it's is not well received given the low usage, the community notes are often the sort of stuff that either should be in a personal journal or just a complete waste of time.
They tried community notes in Libronix and it was a failure. This new iteration is just as disappointing.

Agree. The faithlife group is a failure & dragging in my sense. Logos needs to scrap it & stop wasting time. Just use this forum (or subforum)

Perhaps some find value in it, but I've never felt a need for it. So if it does suck up much at all in the way of Logos resources, I'd rather see those resources used elsewhere.Kevin A. Purcell said:U you

I kind of avoided this thread, since 'Logos8' really needs some excitement. After watching Now'ing and yawning, I'm pretty much on Logos5 (features).
But before throwing the Faithlife social-baby out, they should re-think it. LogosX maybe. I still argue 'churches' need connectivity. Events, shared this and that, Proclaim, and after-church luncheon plans. Little churches helped by big churches. Connecting to church management, and tax stuff.
Faithlife (only) has the necessary pieces, but never can settle down for simple, fun, and easy to use. Logos-designing is nerd-based (no offense to nerds, of course). There's a large market in declining churches (size) and the need to share.

I would like to see a feature added to collections to lock a created collection if desired.
I take the time to make some personal collections based on my criteria and my selection of certain sources. I don't use any rule to do so but then somehow Logos adds new books to my collection that I don't want.
I would like the option to lock a collection (even if it's built on a certain rule) so that it cannot be changed unless I desire to unlock it and add some more books to it myself.

Here are a few of my top wishes for the mobile app:
1. The ability to search on Greek/Hebrew lemmas from the reverse interlinear Bibles as well as from the Greek and Hebrew Bibles. Lonmg press ono a word, then select "Search" to search by lemma. I know I can get there through much effort with the Bible Word Study, but I would rather have a verse list. A lemma search is the most basic thing I expect from any Bible software and there are competing mobile apps that do this.
2. Ability to open search results in one of the windows, so I can tap on a verse to change from verse to verse in the search results.
3. Default for Search command should be the Bible or other resource that is currently open and active. At the least it should be the default Bible, not whatever collection happens to be at the top of my long list of collections. I hate having to wait for the collection list to populate (it can take 30 seconds) and then it takes a while to browse through a long list to find the Bible I am reading.
4. Mobile layouts that can be saved and reopened.
5. As others have requested, the ability to select what interlinear or reverse interlinear tags to display.

I've been delighted with that /ngen start functionality. Perhaps just building that into a low-level startup for Windows release updates.
Indexing is still a bit of a hog. Any improvements would be appreciated.

I would love to see the following:
1) When I search within a Book/resource, for some reason I find it clunky and difficult to view the search results and see the areas where the search results hit. It seems that you have to scroll through the book and find the highlighted areas. I would like it to appear more like a google search result page so that we can jump to the sections of the book we are in that include our search results easier, or at least some feature to "jump to" the next result - similar if you were doing a "find" in a Word Document/etc. For me (unless I am doing it wrong), searching within an opened resource is always a frustrating pain - it should not be that difficult! Making this easier/more streamlined would be my #1 Wishlist item for Logos 8!
2) Ability to access personal books on iPad/app. I know there has been discussion on this. I would really love to see improvements to the personal books - it is a great feature that I would love to see be enhanced! I would REALLY love to see the file size maximum for personal books to be bumped up to at least 50MB. While the 25MB cap works for most of my books, I have a few that I have had to split into several books. Better yet, I wish there was no cap on the file size, though I understand where there might need to have one. Perhaps if increasing the cap size is not an option, there could be a small fee to buy an "unlimited personal book" that would let us upload a really large one for $5.99 or something like that? I would also like to see a more comprehensive and user friendly guide/manual for Creating Personal Books (what I have read and tried so far, the syntax doesn't seem to work)...perhaps an instructional video that is more in depth could also be added?
3) Denominational tagging would be great, and ability to sort by denomination. This should also be an option to add to personal books.
4) Overall speed improvements - this is always an ongoing need.
5) In the Library, I would love to be able to list just the Bibles that are owned (now we can just search all resources, personal books, collections, and series)
6) ability to add more favorite things to home screen - for instance if we could select "favorite resources" to always have preview sections of it show on the home screen that would be great!
7) more modern user interface
8) sort/show books in library based on language.
9) I loved the idea that some mentioned about Logos official collections. It would be great to have a preset collection based on base packages, denominations, etc. I was also a teacher who had students using Verbum - I mentioned this same request, to have a collection of the books that our students had in their accounts so I could search and assign things based on what they had, and wouldn't have to worry about my extra resources being mixed in. Official collections would be very helpful! (For Verbum, I would love some official collections of Papal Documents/Church Documents/etc.).
10) I would like to see more English - ?Language Dictionaries. Right now, there is definitely Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and a Spanish-English Dictionary...but it seems like there are a lot of works that use German, French, etc. It would be nice to have access to those dictionaries as well.
11) Ability to create our own timelines. I like the timeline feature, but I would use it more if I could create my own timelines for things that I study and am interested in. Our own timelines could then list dates/info/etc. I would prefer this not be something like personal books where we have to create it using a syntax, but would rather it have its own interface to add a date, add a title, information, media, etc.
12) I would like to see more books that deal with things like the coins in Scripture and numerology - very few to no resources on these seem to be available. It would be great to have a resource with pictures (not just illustrations) of the coins.
13) FL Websites using same book database. Right now, in order to make sure I am not "missing" anything, I check Logos.com, Verbum.com, Noet.com, and Vyrso.com...while it seems that everything that is on Verbum is on Logos, it would be great if the whole catalog was available on every site. Vyrso books (since they are a different format/less tagging) could be indicated with a "Vyrso" badge/label. It would be great to just have to go to one site to do all my shopping/browsing. (though I make sure I go to Logos/Verbum as they offer different "free books of the month which I appreciate - wish Noet would bring back their free book). In terms of website, Verbum is my favorite as it looks the cleanest, however, it is missing agood portion of the FL catalog, wish lists, community pricing, and even the pre-pub is limited. The monthly payments are also not present in Verbum for review. I would like to see all those features added into Verbum website.
14) Sort by denomination in sales, pre-pub, and community pricing: with the hopeful integration of denominational tagging, it would be great if a drop-down could be added in the searches on the websites so we can see books according to denominations.
15) Logos/Verbum Credit Purchase? I know you can buy this if you call in, and it seems that the Logos site has a form of this (though it seems that it requires a monthly plan), but I would love to be able to simply "load my account" with Logos/Verbum Credit that I can use on a future date or for pre-pubs...EVEN BETTER, or as an additional feature, I would love to go to my "open Pre-pubs" and be able to "prepay" for it. That way I am not hit when it finally comes out. If it ends up getting canceled, what I prepaid could then just convert to logos credit.

One other wishlist thing for Verbum 8 (maybe it already does this), but I would like to see additional books that are on the saints be tagged and automatically populated to the saints database, similar to the ways encyclopedias/etc add into the Factbook. Maybe it already does this, but I thought it would be worth mentioning!

For what little it may be worth, I'm on the side of "throwing the Faithlife social-baby out," at least in anything like its current form. Here's why. First, the integration with the Logos program (such as the community notes and highlighting) really doesn't add much value, and it adds another set of complications to an already very complex piece of software. Second, there's no obvious necessity to integrate a social-networking infrastructure into a Bible study program. Third, there are already a plethora of well-established social-networking platforms available. It's not intuitively obvious why congregations wouldn't be better off using them instead (as many already do).
FaithLife is on the cutting edge when it comes to Bible software. It's hard to see how a FaithLife social networking platform could achieve a comparable degree of success.

EastTN, since you quoted me, I'll respond (smiling). First, yes, Faithlife-social is a disaster. And second, yes, Facebook is a social-goto.
The mistake is viewing/demanding one as a replacement for the other. And (at least for me), there's ample examples of not-Facebook-social successes. In my own sphere, everything from GoodReads, quilting-groups, geology-circles, and folk music groups. They serve specific needs. And most also do Facebook.
I would argue (probably alone) that church support is still in its infancy. Large churches that people love to dislike are creating their own goto's. Large Bible sites are beginning to collect large followings. Compare to seminaries that (I'd bet) provide little training or imagination .... some Bible software maybe?
I still think Faithlife is on the cusp, if only it'd concentrate on integrated, and easy. And yes, even lady-able. Such a concept!

Denise, you make some good points. In particular, I agree that the church community as a whole has not been as effective with social media as it should be. I also agree that churches have not been as good about supporting each other as they should.
As I think about it, it seems to me that it might be useful to separate out the platform or infrastructure from the communities that it supports. I can't argue that we don't need more, or better, or perhaps just different "goto" online communities. The two things I would suggest are:
- There's no reason that church-based on-line communities can't use the same software platforms as secular on-line communities; and
- There's not a lot of value to be gained from the technical integration of on-line communities into Logos 7 or Logos 8.
Anyway, that's why it seems to me like an odd fit for FaithLife. At least, it seems like an odd fit to integrate it through Logos. Proclaim might be a more natural fit, since oriented towards supporting at least part of the life of the congregation, rather than supporting individual study.

I don't know if it is "on the cusp," but I certainly agree with you that there is a need... as you say, especially for smaller churches. I don't think FL is there now. To clarify my point above: I don't want to have to join some stupid group just to link to a reading plan. I don't want emails letting me know that someone was "blessed" by such and such a passage. There is a place for that... but I don't want to be bombarded by it by complete strangers... which has been my FL experience thus far. Further, there is a need to be able to have conversations... DB's are much better suited for that than are small, pithy posts.

Quick version: SPEED
Medium version: Just give us acceptable responsiveness
Long-winded-preach-past-lunchtime version:
I would ever so happily forgo everything else to get some -- S-P-E-E-D -- Doesn't have to be anything crazy, just software that does not hang up when all I want to do is take a quick peek at Ps 27:14.
I still go to competitive software at times (and am beefing it up with resources) when I just want to get something simple done and don't want to wait on endless spinning wheels and clicks that take minutes to respond as Logos works my hard drive at 14 MB/s doing heaven only knows what (not indexing).
To my dismay, Logos slowness has made all three of my children go astray, to abandon Logos for something faster. I know kids need time to grow up, but please help me win them back!

1. Speed, speed, speed e.g. ability to turn off all visual effects like in Windows performance options so there is no lag at all on pop ups while hovering and opening windows
2. Ability to customise the size of information tool tips (please someone advise if this is already possible)
I love Logos and its features. However, despite recent improvements, it feels a bit like having saved up to buy a luxury car only to discover that it won't reach over 50mph unless you run it on expensive special fuel, instead of what most other cars run happily on.
I have demonstrated Logos to friends. Superb features have not been enough to convince them to buy due to the laggy speed.

Colours! I still find it difficult to believe we have no options for colours (not doing it by Windows settings) but within Logos itself. Online Bible etc have had this feature since the beginning (back in the late 80's) but Logos for one reason or the other refuses to add that. Come on Technicians or Writers, Producers, Editors etc etc. ............ simply do it. :-)

I wrote a big long post on it here -- but the summary is allow people to self-publish to the Logos platform like Amazon does with self-publishing to the Kindle, or like apps to the App Store.
Brings a new revenue source for Logos while greatly expanding resources available - especially for other languages. Which will make it hard for other platforms to ever keep up, and thus making Logos stronger.

Hey Phil, I just have one thing kind of small but I liking using clippings a lot. So I would appreciate it if you could cut and paste something not in logos and then be able to add it directly as a clipping. I know you can do this other ways (like notes) so why not in clippings? Thanks for asking Phil.

I wish this forum had a "like" or "agree" button. There are a lot of suggestions here that I would express agreement with. It would allow Logos to get a sense of how popular an idea or concern is.

Ability to access personal books on iPad/app.
1. It is critical that Personal Books be usable on the mobile platforms. IMHO a tablet is the best way to read a book, as opposed to study the Bible while periodically consulting small random portions in reference books.
2. I would like a simpler way to distribute Personal Books to a few other people, without requiring them to compile the book. Something along the line of the Documents, where I can provide a link to someone and they can add the Personal Book I create to their library. I have a number of Personal Books I have created for this purpose as class handouts.
3. It is also frustrating that I cannot move a book from one of my own computers to another without rebuilding the book from the source file. I just had to revert to an old computer due to a failure in my mail computer. My personal books are listed under the Personal Books tool, but I cannot build them because I do not have the source document on this computer.
Chris K said:love to see the file size maximum for personal books to be bumped up to at least 50MB.
4. I totally agree. Breaking up a personal book into smaller "pamphlets" makes reading and searching unnecessarily cumbersome.

preset collection based on base packages
[Y] All of these should be available for all versions of base packages, including Biblical Languages Library and denominational base packages. When I create class assignments and exercises, I need to know what students would have access to for the base package that they are required to own at our school. The problem is exacerbated by the changing content of base packages with each new version of Logos. Some resources I could assume students would have are not longer included in base packages.

In case you haven't read Bob's posts from more recently, it doesn't look like this will ever happen. Bob's original vision for personal books was ... personal books. Many (if not most) users have utilized the tool to import books from other sources. This presents legal and other challenges.
FWIW - I wish it would come to mobile as well. I wish they used Dropbox API for sync / cloud service.

Refresh the Home Screen / sidebar dramatically. It's basically been the same since L4. Get creative. Make it fun, interactive, and fully customizable, especially the sidebar.
Would love to be able to, say, drag a few favorites to the sidebar, then a course or two I like, then a reading plan, then a prayer list, then perhaps see a new scripture from a book of the Bible each day, etc. Let us make the sidebar our own little slice of heaven on virtual earth.
How about Faithife TV as an alternate L8 home page?
Let us be able to apply themes to the home page to change it up a bit, much like one can do in Windows.
Fix the reported bugs in the Mac Notes editor, please.
I know there are major changes coming to Notes, But if the notes documents are staying, give us the ability to predefine how the notes are stored in those documents. Allow for simple logic that can be selected which would then directed the notes to a particular document. For example, allow me to predefine that any highlighting to a Bible will be saved in a "Bible notes" document. If I highlight or take notes in a commentary, make those highlights to automatically go to a "New Testament" or "Old Testament commentary" document. If I highlighted in red, allow that to go to a document labeled "important." These are just examples off the top of my head. I know that the faceted browsing of the notes will allow us to access this, butI still don't understand why we can't have predefined actions for particular resources / documents.

- Definitely add "Projects" as an alternative to layouts.
- Backwards compatibility between Proclaim and the Sermon Editor, where I can import a service. Also, song integration in sermon editor.
- Better Atlas.
- Zoom on all images.
- Updates to Timeline. It feels like it has a lot of information, but never quite enough to make it my first choice. I should be able to snap to search results and pull in all those fancy Factbook features.
- FOCUS! Your core competency does not include Social Media, "Ask the Author," etc. Wasting time on half baked ideas like those undermines my confidence In your focus on good things (like the essential, but half baked journals). Mobile Ed and Proclaim are natural extensions of what you are already doing. Faithlife as a social network and church management software are not.
- The fuzzy Bible search is lousy. The response to a lot of early feedback was defensive and mostly just repeated that what we really wanted from the function was not possible with the way it was built. I am sorry you wasted time and money building it in a way that is not compatible with basic user requests, but that does not change the need to look at those requests and go back to the drawing board.

I know that the right-click menu is cluttered enough already, but I would like the ability to select a lengthy passage of text in Logos, right-click it, and copy only a hyperlinked citation to the text without also copying the text itself. When I am writing or doing research, there are many times that all I need is a citation. Having Logos also copy the text of whatever resource I am citing introduces extra/unwanted steps into my workflow. Once I paste into Word, I then to select the text (that I did not want copied to begin with) and then delete it. This only takes a few seconds, but doing it over and over becomes annoying.

1) Deploy full Logos 8 with all the desktop features on a virtual machine in the cloud. Logos 7 is one of the reasons that I still maintain a personal desktop machine rather than going all-mobile for personal use.
2) For switching notes files, make it as easy to do on desktop as it is on the mobile apps.

When I print, I want it to **select subsections by default**. Right now, i have to drill down two or three layers and manually check every box or it just prints the header.
I also want to be able to control the font size from the print control, instead of having to close out of it, change my Logos font size, and then go back into the print dialogue.
These are two small but frequent and annoying problems.
