Importing media into the Sermon Editor
I was asked how I used this feature in https://community.logos.com/forums/p/152596/931088.aspx#931088 and thought it would be better to start a new thread.
I used it to import a screenshot I had made of some Logos resources which resulted in this in my Sermon Document
(The pink? background is used to indicate that there is a new slide - I find this useful when preaching from the mobile app which doesn't display the slides themselves. So I use it as a new slide marker)
The slide contents are visible in the Slides view as below
To make this diagram available I uploaded it into the Media Tool
Using the sermon slides during a service requires either exporting to PowerPoint or sending to Proclaim - and in either case I could have simply created an screenshot of the Logos resources and imported the resultant file into PowerPoint or Proclaim - but I prefer to do it this way as I then have all the sermon media together in one place.
Sometimes I like to incorporate "Verse of the Day" slides in the sermon slides - and the new (in 7.10) Copy / Paste capability from the Media Tool (or other places) into the Sermon Editor will make that much easier.

I hope someday this will come to Logos. Accordance has it, and other softwares. I think it's called photo viewer and it has the ability to zoom in and out. Very useful, but what Graham describes, is really nothing new; it's just another convenient way of doing what we've been able to do.
I present from my screen. I project Logos into the screen. My sermon/class outline on the left and my preferred Bible to the right. I'm able to explain and click on scriptures so people can follow along and read literally various versions when I link several versions together.
Having the Accordance ability to insert pictures that can zoom in and out as explained in the link I provided is a MUST in Logos and is so much better than sending images to power point which we were already able to do anyway.

I don't think this is the case. Before this update we were not able to import media into the Sermon Editor in any form as far as I know.

I agree this would be very helpful but this change is not about sending images to PowerPoint - it is about embedding media (albeit not in the way you and others have requested) in a Sermon Document.
Since I use the mobile app for preaching - not the desktop app - this new functionality is very helpful and gives me most of what I need. But I agree that having the capability you are describing would be very useful.

It sounds like you are asking for at least two things:
- The ability to add images inline with the text of a sermon (not slides).
- The ability to open a larger view of an image on click or hover.
I've read through this and other threads, and I'm trying to better understand the needs behind your request.
Would you mind sharing a screenshot of your screen the way you present it in class? If you feel so inclined, you could even use a picture editor to create a mockup of how you imagine your proposal would work in Logos.
Other questions:
- Do you expect placing an image in the sermon text would also create a slide of that image? If yes, would you expect all slides to be placed in the text? Or have controls for each/all images whether to display in text or in slides?
- For zoom, would you expect this would also apply to images in other locations, such as in resources, media-based guide sections, search results?
- Sermon Editor originally showed a larger image on hover over the slide thumbnail. If we re-instituted some version of that, would it suit your presentation needs?

I would very much like to change font colors in the slides with text but as It stands now, it you change the font colors it changes all the text. Not only would I like to emphasize certain text with a lot text but I would like to animate that text as well.

Thanks, DAL. And I think this goes without saying, but just to make sure we are on the same page:
We do want to consider our users' needs, even while recognizing that it isn't practical to build to everything they ask for. I am very interested in hearing your feedback, but whether we build anything out of it will depend on whether it will do the most good for the most users, or if some of the many other ideas take priority.Looking forward to hearing from you.

So... here goes nothing 😬
Ok Adam, screen shot 1 shows the sermon outline with a picture. If you notice, I also have the ability to change the color on the font.
Now, on screenshot number 2 I clicked on the picture and it opened in an enlarged popup window. After showing the picture I can click on the side and the enlarged popup window will disappear or you can add an “x” button at the right hand corner to close it.
On screen shot number 3 you see part of my teaching outline as I scroll down.
Towards the end, on screen shot number 4, I have inserted 2 more pictures, that when I click on each, an enlarged popup window appears as seen in screenshots numbers 5 and 6. By the way, the popup window has arrows to move from one picture to the next if the pictures are part of the same sermon document. It also has the ability to zoom in or out if there’s a need for that.
Screenshot number 7 shows the pictures at normal size thumbnail and the conclusion of the sermon when I have scrolled all the way to the bottom.
I really don’t expect the sermon editor to create a slide unless you need it for those who use proclaim. Zoom would be nice for all other pictures found in Logos or added to the Logos media too. And I never saw the feature where the sermon editor enlarged the image/slide when hovering over the thumbnail but you can reinstitute it if you like. I’d have to see a picture to see what you are talking about and how it looks.
Anyway, I hope I’m making sense 👍😁👌

In my opinion (and from the comments I’ve received both in English and Spanish - I present in both languages), the audience is able to follow along better and take better notes. Not only that but they love the fact that I click on a verse and it automatically opens up on my preferred Bible which is the same version that everybody else uses. Now everyone can read for themselves and confirm what the Word says and stay better focused. I also have an app that allows me to highlight, mark up for emphasis, underline etc. while I’m presenting. Kind of like what you used to do manually on an overhead projector back in the old days, but more improved on my laptop. My app is similar to the one you guys at Faithlife use when you do the screen cast for the software for training purposes; you highlight, you draw arrows, underline, etc.
So it makes it very easy and effective (in my case) to keep people engaged in class. I even have them read verses from the screen and they don’t even have to open their Bible to do so, which is a HUGE TIME SAVER! Especially for those who still struggle navigating through their Bibles to find book, chapter and verse (BCV).
Anyway I hope this feature can be implemented, it would be unfortunate to have to move back and forth from Logos to Accordance for something I’d rather do all in Logos.

I appreciate the time you've taken to give us this feedback. If I may, this is how I summarize your workflow needs:
- Presenting the content outline of your sermon or lesson.
- Presenting custom images, which you can add from an external source.
- Presenting Bible passages in a preferred version.
- Marking up Bible passages on-screen for emphasis.
Sermon Editor already meets needs 1-3, even if not exactly with the workflow you suggest. In my opinion, dedicate slides for each of these purposes is a better end-user experience (meaning, for your audience) than presenting software on-screen.
- You can show your outline to your audience either by using the Handouts feature of Sermon Editor, or by creating slides with the text of the outline up to the current point in the presentation.
- This is already possible for all images in your Logos resources or media collections, and for any uploaded image for Logos Now members.
- This has been a key benefit of Sermon Editor since its debut. (Of course, you also get the added benefit of Signals, when you pair with Proclaim and your audience's personal mobile devices with the Logos app.)
On-screen markup (for which you are using a third-party app) is an interesting idea. We aren't planning on investing in new features for Sermon Editor at the moment, but this is worth consideration in the future.
