Too Many Taps to Get Around

I like the new user interface of the beta app, but too many of the things that I could do with one or two taps now take more than that in the new UI.  For example, to switch to a new resource I could just tap the title at the top of the screen before. Now I have to tap the menu button in the upper right and then tap change resource.

Yes I can open a new resource by tapping the library, but I have to tap to bring up the toolbar since they won't stay showing. Then I have to tap. Still two taps instead of one.

To add a new pane and sync them I can no longer just tap in the lower right corner. I now have to tap on the new tabs button tap on the new button that adds a new window pane and hen tap Open from the library. Again, more taps to do the same that could be done in just one tap or in this case.

Also, shouldn't the "change resource" open a bible or book with CBV navigation available open the new book to that same place. If I'm viewing Psalm 80:1 in the CSB and switch to the ESV should it automatically open to Psalm 80 if I use the Change Resource button in the menu? I think so.
