Herky Jerky Video

This past Sunday we played a few videos and moving backgrounds and they were all herky jerky. Audio was fine but video would stop for a brief moment every couple of seconds and then play. Sometimes the audio would not match up with the video then it would catch up. Any suggestions? This is a church computer. Macbook of some type. Newer but not newest. If the save file is needed, how do I find it? Thanks

Hello Todd,
Generally speaking Macs handle Proclaim and media playback very well. I'd be interested in knowing the specs of the laptop (Click on the apple symbol in the top left, and select "About this Mac"). You could try ensuring that your Mac is fully up to date, and also ensure that there are no other applications running alongside Proclaim to free up resources.
Also, what is your display set up like?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)
2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
Display set up is going to multiple monitors. 5 total all the same main feed.
I will let the tech know to kill all background stuff ( I think she may run google in the background for music videos) and I updated mac today.

What are the output options to those 5 monitors?
While your laptop has pretty good specifications, I'm not sure the graphics card can handle 5 different outputs, especially if a few of those displays are set to play the videos/motion backgrounds. That's a pretty demanding task on the hardware.

Could there be such a thing as too many motion backgrounds? The tech really likes them and uses quite a few during the presentation. Or is it simply too many monitors for the graphics card? Is the solution a new computer?

Well, since only one motion background is playing at a time, you can fill your presentation with as many as you'd like. That's not hurting your performance. It is having those motion backgrounds playing on 2+ displays that will start degrading the performance. I bet if you test it with just one or two monitors, it will play just fine.
In order to have perfect playback on that many displays, you will need a computer with a newer and dedicated graphics card.

Thank you for your time. I will share this with our tech guy for solutions.
