User Account Control query when starting Proclaim from a non-admin Windows account

Running Windows 10 and starting Proclaim from a non-admin (Windows) account always results in a UAC dialog box asking if I want to allow Proclaim to make changes to the device.
If I say yes and enter an Admin password Proclaim opens normally - if I say No then Proclaim opens normally.
This seems to have started happening in the last couple of weeks
Any ideas about what is going on and how to prevent this?
Thanks, Graham

I dumped Windoze for Linux/Mac a long time ago, but believe Windows will still allow you to run programs as an admin by modifying the properties of the program icon. Position your cursor over the icon you use to start Proclaim, then right click. There should be a "Run As Admin" option that should do what you want. Hope this helps.

Hi Michael - thanks for the pointer and you are quite correct it is an option.
However, there isn't any real reason I can think of why Proclaim needs to be run as an admin and so I'm wondering if there was any unintended change in the code in the last release or so.
But it's a good option to fall back on if required.
Thanks again, Graham

Hey Graham,
There was no unintended change in the code and running as admin or not you won't effect anything with Proclaim which I am sure you are aware of. : )
I do believe you can turn that option off when using Proclaim. If you open your File explorer and locate Proclaim exe file and right click and select properties > Compatibility > Uncheck the box next to "Run this program as an administrator"
Hope this helps, but like I said Proclaim will run fine with this option checked or unchecked.
Thanks, Matt

Box isn't checked for me, yet I'm getting the same thing. Something had to have changed. This is wildly inconvenient.
Version 2.6.0.0028 on Windows 8.1.

Proclaim is trying to block "Layered Service Providers" which requires admin permissions. This prevents third-party apps, often malware, from inserting themselves into Proclaim's process, and potentially causing Proclaim to crash. This change only needs to happen once and previously was part of the installation step. We have since moved it into startup, which is what you're noticing.
Graham, Jon, have you ever accepted the UAC prompt? You should only have to do this once. Interested to hear if this is not what you're experiencing.

Thanks Scott
i have accepted the prompt on a couple of occasions and did so again yesterday.
But I still get the prompt every time I start Proclaim

Hey Graham,
We've had a few other people say the same thing you and Jon are experiencing. I am sure our team will gather more information on Monday and will follow up accordingly once we know more.
Appreciate the patience and I apologize for the inconvenience.
Thanks, Matt

Did the latest update fix it? I didn't notice the issue after updating.
