When I add any youtube video (yes, I use the long version) it pastes the embed url.
Thanks for your help.
Hey Scot,
When you are adding a YouTube video to your presentation are you going to Add Item > Web page > then pasting the URL link into the web page bar? Your slide will look something like this: (See image below)
The url is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPG3zSgm_Qo
Put when I paste it into Proclaim it becomes: https://www.youtube.com/embed/GPG3zSgm_Qo?autoplay=1
This happens on both Windows and Macs
Proclaim is up-to-date: Proclaim 2.6.0.0049
Thank you for your help.
Hello Scot,
We do that on purpose so that the video will play in full screen. Is that not what you want?
Okay, I understand. But the problem comes that my computer, Windows 10, isn't loading the video at all and says there is an error. So it's on my end with some setting. Thank you for your help. ~S
What is the error message you are getting? We can definitely still help you out about this. (a screenshot will help out a lot)
If you are on a windows machine if you search for the "snippet" tool or if you are on a mac command+shift+4 brings up the screenshot tool.
No worries. It's working now. I think that Sunday, when I was trying to use it, the internet connection was not very good.
I would be scared to death to use a YouTube link in a live situation. I don't always have a solid WI-FI connection, and the last thing you'd want is to get a buffering screen. Or ads popping up...
Someone here mentioned Wondershare video downloader a few years ago - I download the video to a file and upload it to Proclaim. You have to be careful of copyright issues, but it really works well and isn't expensive.
There are several free video downloaders available, the problem arises when the boss shows up (just as you're about to go live) with a youtube video he just googled. That's when inserting a web page slide is about your only option.
