Logos 4.0c Beta 3 Indexer Crash

After an 800 meg download today, indexing was started. It ran for about an hour, but crashed. I had closed L4 so that I was not accessing any books that were being indexed. But I continued to use L3 and other applications.
In my limited experience, I have found that it is best not to use the computer at all until the indexer is finished. But this is truly unacceptable. It is not a matter of indexing now & then, indexing is becoming a regular practice. I really think it is time to seriously consider the user having the option to opt out of indexing (for a time of his or her choice) but to incorporate a similar search system to L3. I'm no software engineer & may be asking for the impossible! I do like the idea of an index, but not the time & attention that needs to be applied to it on what is becoming a regular thing.
I well understand the benefits of corrected books and new releases etc. and greatly appreciate these. I'd just like the ability to use L4 with a search system, yet to manually start indexing when it suits me to do so. Now for those who would like to say to me "just use the pause indexing option", then I would suggest that it becomes more like "nagware" and this is not to mention that indexing starts up with every boot, slowing down the boot time.
These are my suggestions for Logos to consider. L4 is brilliant software and I am very pleased with everything about it except the indexing issue.

Have you considered Automatically Download Updates = NO? It gives you the choice of when to download and index whilst letting you know that downloads are available.

There is no error information. If there was a crash.txt file with the logs please upload.
The Bible Index was created successfully & the crash would appear to be in the Library indexing.

Hi Dave,
My program is already set to NO. However, it still does not give me a choice of when the indexer starts. As with the latest download of 800 meg, the indexer will continue to be present each time the computer starts whether Logos is running or not.

Thanks for checking with the file Dave. I would have sent the crash file but, unfortunately, it didn't generate one.

Has indexing completed?
You could delete the LibraryIndex folder if it is still crashing as this will force a full re-index.
