Bug: Column width won't stay in Library or Collections
When I start a new search in my Library or when I add a resource in a collection list, the title column width reduces to almost nothing - 2 or 3 characters wide - I double click it and it returns to full width, but narrows again each time I start a new search or drag a resource to a collection. I've reduced the number of columns to 1 (Title) and it still collapses.
I've attached a screen shot.

I can't repro this whatsoever, does this happen when you freshly open Logos4?

I've just open, re-opened, and re-opened again - plus started with a clean boot up and it is the same. As soon as I delete the word in the box the title column reverts to narrow. I can't do a search at the moment, because I'm re-indexing - had some resources that didn't get installed when I got this new computer so I updated them to L3 and now getting them into L4. Not sure it is working as it should, but that's another post

George,
Sorry, I didn't mean a search - anyway while I was working on the post the indexing finished. I meant a collection. That was working okay to start. Once I double click on the top of the column to make it automatically widen to the widest title, it reverts to a narrow one when I type a new entry in the "Start with resources matching . . ." box.
Library opens with a narrow title column right off.

George,
I find that in my library, it defaults to a narrow title column, but if I toggle the view button through the various views (I have no idea what to call each) , the title column reverts to wider - it is widest on the detail view with the title sort and somewhat narrower, but still pretty wide in the view with the rank sort. I used PrtSc to copy images to a Word doc and then used Jing to edit those down. I can't use Jing for screen shots directly because my library disappears when I move into Jing. (Is there a way to "lock" library on the screen?)
These show for toggles of the view then a new search entered.
Hope this helps.

George this will have to be a series of posts to show all the screen shots.

Yes you can drag the library icon to a panel area and it will become a panel, you can only have one library panel displayed

I don't know, I still can't reproduce this. I'm wondering if you will be able to repro in beta 3.

Let's hope you finish Indexing! It may be connected to your issue.

George:
I'm afraid it is still there in Beta 3. Here's how my Library opened up this morning - I did all the installs last night and left it running through the night -- then shut down and came to the college.
I haven't played with it, yet. But that's my starting point.

George,
I'm still experiencing problems in B4 with this kind of thing.
If I click on library it seems to put a standard width in the Title column. If I double click the divider with the next column it widens out. If I change the view it reverts to the "standard" width - which means I can't read full titles. If I sort by "Type" then by "Title" without changing the view it retains the wide title column.
More serious: If I use the "floating window" or "new tab" option with a right click, or drag the library tag into a space on the Logos desktop, I get the narrow "Title" issue again. I'm attaching a video to show this change from just clicking to dragging as an example.
I don't know if a log will reveal anything.

In Collections, if I open a collection the default is narrow Title column. If I double click the width it widens and then if I scroll through views it says wide. Open another collection - reverts to narrow on title. Open the previous collection that I'd widened and it is narrow again.

Well, now it is not starting wide. I restarted to download the People/Places/Things update and when I went to look at my library -- the download is in the early stage. The standard click-view had a narrow Title column. [:(]

Hi Chris,
I can't reproduce this either. What are your video details: monitor, adapter, screen resolution? Does it look different when Library is docked or floated?
Thanks,

MelissaMelissa,
Sorry, I removed my specs from the signature line because I was posting to general forum as well.
This is on an Acer TravelMate 7730 laptop 17" wide screen. I'm running 1440 x 900, 32bit, 60 hz. Adapter is an Intel 4 series express chipset -- I'm not sure where to get more info on that.
I think they look pretty much the same. I just restarted the program (it is indexing after downloading People/Places/Things) and it is still defaulting to the narrow in the normal view as well. About three letters of Title and up to the "o" of devotions in the type column.
Here's a screen shot of attached:
And here's floating:

Just updating that this is still happening with B5

Is this still happening in beta 6? It looks like it might have something to do with your resolution at 1440 x 900, for some reason I cannot repro for the life of me on 1680x1050 but I just recently had a similar problem when I set it up as 1440x900, although I dont know if it was a just fluke..

George,
The TItle column appears to be okay now, but the Type column continues to revert to 3 letters. If I expand it by double clicking it reverts. If I expand the Title column it reverts to a reasonable width.
B6, still with same specs as I gave Melissa.

This appears to be resolved now. I'm on B9.
Update: No its back. This time Title, Type, Author and My Tags are all about 5 characters wide. When I last opened My Library, I had them nicely positioned. This opening was after a re-start. This was a normal opening of the library - but is also true as a tab or floating.

Okay, George. It's back to normal again. No change that I'm aware of. This afternoon it was still wrong, but now it's good. Go figure! Let's just hope it stays good.
