Reading Plan Irregular Lengths

i'm using the reading plan feature, especially for longer books, but i am kinda mystified as to where the breaks come.
e.g. if I set it up to work through a book in 100 reading sessions, some days the plan will have me read as much as twice the content as the shortest days. my current plan will have me read as little as 4 pages a day or as much as 9 pages.
the section breaks usually come in the middle of a sentence, so it's not trying to form itself to natural breaks in the text. tried factoring in footnotes, and that doesn't seem to affect it either. i have set the plan up in different ways too (finish by certain date; finish in x sessions; read pg. x-x; etc.) and it doesn't resolve it.
it is a little annoying, b/c the time it takes to complete the reading sessions varies so much. am I setting the plan up wrong? any ideas for making the plans a bit more regular???

When you create an automatic reading plan, there are a number of factors which may come into play. For example, Vyrso resources (now Faithlife eBooks) typically don't have page numbers, so the breaks will most naturally come at chapter headings.

When you create an automatic reading plan, it isnt very "smart." There is a good chance that there is a page break in the middle of those sentences. Have you tried turning on page numbers to see where those breaks are?

In most cases, the only satisfactory reading plans are those created by Faithlife OR ones you manually create yourself. There is a means to select which text you want in a day's reading. It isn't that big of a deal if you are creating 10-15 readings... but it would be a much bigger deal if you were creating 50.
I'll see if I can find info on the manual method for you.

thanks!
i have only used the "generate a reading plan" option, so maybe I should try the "custom reading plan" option - maybe that's the manual method?
i haven't tried any Vyrso resources in reading plans, just Logos stuff. I think all the plans I've done have had the page numbers on. I didn't pay much attention to the numbers at first, but when I noticed that my reading times were varying so much everyday, I checked the numbers and that's where I got confused.
my last few days have come out like this: pg. 284-290; pg. 291-299; pg. 300-303; pg. 304-310. lol. i just assumed that the program would just chop everything into equal segments.
appreciate the help.

There is SOME method to the madness, but who knows what it is. [:D]
I have searched for about half an hour with no luck on how to create a reading plan with the "selection" method. I don't have time at present to create a tutorial, but if no one else chimes in, please bump this thread and I will work on that for you.

Does this help?

Here are some steps that might get you going.
- Create a new Reading Plan and select the Custom Reading Plan option
- Open the resource you want to read
- Add a session for each day's reading:
- Make sure the correct date is set for the session: "Add a reading session to..."
- Select a range of text in the resource, or enter the desired range in the navigation box at the top of the resource panel
- Click "Choose an open resource" in the reading plan editor. This will show a menu of options that can be added to the session. If the option has no resource abbreviation after it, the reading will open in your preferred resource for that reference.
- Click "Add session" to add that session to the reading plan
If you want to import readings from another reading plan, a passage list, or a clippings document, you can use the Add menu at the top of the reading plan panel. This will add sessions starting at the date displayed at "Add a reading session to..."
Does that help?
